Entry #5

Dear Diary,

I made some new friends at work today- Mizuki and Ume. But that's not their work names. In the club, they're Jen and Sugako, but I'm not gonna call them that outside of work.

Mizuki's really funny and plays a more tomboy role than me or Ume. I'm the "innocent flirty" one and Ume's "sophisticated and classy." Not that she isn't those things, which is why I find it a real shame she has to work in such a shady place. Though ever since her family went bankrupt she hasn't got much of a choice. Such is life and whatever else the French say.

I started 9th grade yesterday. It's kinda weird. This is my last year of middle school before high school. It's very baffling that I'm getting so old.

Yet it's still fucking gross how the men at work keep touching my legs.

The joint is in no way, shape, or form legal but it pays well so I guess I just gotta deal with it. I know Eito isn't very happy about it.

"Mimi-Dear, where are the matches? Don't worry, their clothes will be the kindling for the fire."

Like, holy shit it took three fucking hours to convince him to let up and not potentially get arrested for arson.

I love my twin with all my heart, but Diary every time he opens his mouth I'm worried some secret police task force will jump in through the window and lock him up for unspeakable crimes. He's just so... What's the word... Ah, fucking terrifying. But I know he would rather kill himself in the most painful way possible than lay a hand on me so at least he's got that going for him.

Ugh, Diary I'm just filled with so many random thoughts right now. You probably aren't understanding anything I say.

But then again you're just a book.

Xoxo

PRESENT DAY- EITO POV

I grabbed my sister and pulled her into the crook of my left arm, "Parents? As in Mother and that deadbeat bastard?"

His eyes widened in surprise, "Woah, there, Eito. Your father has no idea you exist. Things aren't always what they appear to be. I promise if Eisuke had known..."

I tuned him out and focused on the fact my father's name is Eisuke.

Eisuke.

Eito.

Really, Mother?

Really?

You didn't name Kurumi Eiko or Eina.

Fucking Eito?

I need a name change after this.

Maybe Takahiko or something manly like that.

"...And that's why you have to come to the Tres Spades to meet him! It's what your Mother wanted!"

Oh fuck I zoned out monologuing again.

I just assumed the Tres Spades was where our father was so I glared at him, "No way in hell will I let Kurumi anywhere near that literal motherfucker."

My sister, my goddess, my reason for living narrowed her eyes at me, "Excuse you?"

I coughed, "Right sorry. No way in hell am I going to let Kurumi go alone but there's also no way in hell I'm going."

"Better."

Baba tilted his head, "Now I know You hasn't ever said so much as a negative word out loud about Eisuke. What do you think happened all those years ago?"

"Simple. He got tired of her and threw her out on the street and never so much as looked back." Isn't my sister so amazing? Look at her, telling it like it is.

"That's not at all what happened. Yui almost died for the fourth time that month because she was with your father. He couldn't handle it if she got so much as a paper cut because of him so he broke things off with her and asked me to check on her every now and then. He had no idea she was pregnant and the only reason he doesn't know about you both is because Yui specifically asked me to not say anything."

Kurumi and I shared a glance.

I sighed, "What do you want to do?"

She bit her lip and looked up at me with Mother's eyes, "If he had no idea and Mom made sure of that, then it isn't his fault. He deserves a chance. It wouldn't be right if we just left and continued to hate him after this."

So young yet so wise.

What an angel, it's a shame I could totally do that last part and be fine.

But, alas, if the princess commands it, "Alright, alright. As you wish."

I turned to Baba, "Take us to Tres Spades please."

...

"Oh my God, are you Uncle Eisuke's illegitimate child? I knew he had one of those! Oh my gosh-"

The moment we entered the car a girl around the age of twenty who looked suspiciously like Baba bombarded us with questions on sight, "I'm sorry, who are you?"

"Oh!" She laughed, "My bad. I'm Katsumi. Katsumi Baba. Daddy and I were out looking for a dress for my friend Nana when he saw you, said "No way", and ran out to collect you both. Now, you're a spitting image of Eisuke- only younger and really hot, hit me up if you're ever in the mood- but I'm assuming the girl next to you is like a girlfriend or whatever- no wait. She's got his glare. You're twins, aren't you?"

Baba laughed, "Now now, Princess. You're correct, but you shouldn't be rude."

She smiled sheepishly, "Sorry, did I offend you?"

Yes.

"No, you're fine," replied Kurumi.

"Why yes I am. Oh! So hey, the dude who's glaring a hole into my brain, do you have a girlfriend?"

Baba frowned, "Katsumi..."

"Oh shush, he's hot and I wanna know if the train station is open for business."

"The only women I need in my life are my sister and my mother."

"Oooooh, so you're gay?"

I choked, "No!"

I swear to God I'm not gay.

"Ah, so I'm not your type then. Don't worry, Mini-Eisuke, if I can't have you then I'll be sure to find you the one who can."

"My name is Eito."

"... Seriously?"

Here we go again.
