FINAL CHAPTER BEFORE EPILOGUE

KATSUMI POV

For some reason, I think of my dog Ryosuke.

He's an adorkable shiba inu who likes to hide in bushes and curling up by my feet at night and licking them

I haven't thought about him since I was bought in the auction.

But now he's what I find myself thinking about the most- that and my old friends.

I think old and I'm about to cry.

I think old and I know the reason I say that is because I know I'll never see them again.

I've been here almost two weeks, I think.

It's hard keeping track of the time.

I'm lying down on my bed right now, staring up at the biblical picture thats for some reason painted on the wooden canopy.

It's a piece of Christ on the cross.

I've never been a religious girl. But I can't help but find myself praying at what I think is night for someone to come save me. For all I know Caroline has been tucking me in at eight in the morning.

At least she stopped making me sleep besides her.

I close my eyes and slowly drift off into dreamland.

"Hurry mommy! Come on were gonna miss it!"

I smiled at my five year old daughter.

" I'm coming, I'm coming Sachiko. Wait for your Mom."

Kanako emerges from the distance holding our two year old son, Eisuke.

Sachi runs up and asks to hold her brother.

" Not right now, little Sachi. Your brother is sleeping."

Her face falls, "oh... okay..."

I grab her from behind and toss her in the air and quickly catching her as she starts laughing tremendous amount of joy.

I set her down and kiss her forehead, "shouldn't we be going? I mean we are going to be late..."

Sachiko rolls her eyes, "Auntie Ume is finally marrying Uncle Hidetaka! I'm so happy! They're so cute together!"

"Yes, yes they are," spoke a new voice.

" Auntie Mizu! Uncle Mitsuru!"

She runs over and hugs both their legs.

I laugh along with Kana.

Suddenly, Mizu bitch slaps me.

"WAKE UP!"

What...

....

I woke up to see Caroline on top of me, "wake up and hide. If you so much as cough I will get my men to kill you. If I can't have you, nobody can."

She left the room and locked the large metal door.

Oh, right.

Kana and I aren't married and have two children (I don't know where the he'll that came from)

Ume is not marrying our English teacher (YET)

And Mizuki is not with the actor Mitsuru Sanada from the soap opera "First Love Diaries"

And I'm not free.

This is where I'll die.

And the scary thing is...

I am not scared anymore.

I ended up falling asleep under the bed where I was hiding.

If I'm being honest with myself, I think as I hear the door open and heavy as well as multiple footsteps enter the room That I know aren't Caroline's, him tempted to scream and yell so that way I get shot or something. At this point, I just want to die.

"...Katsumi?"

I immediately jumped out from under the bed and ran to the source of the voice and hugged them.

It was Baba.

"Daddy..." I bawled into his shoulder.

He wrapped his arms around me and for a moment, it felt like he'd never let go.

He probably wouldn't have of it wasn't for what happened next.

BANG BANG

Someone dropped to the floor dead before a scream is even let out.

Baba-dad- and I stop hugging and turn around in horror and shock.

It was my mother.

She had been shot dead center in the head.

She didn't even have time to cry in agony.

It killed her immediately.

And the person holding the gun?

Caroline Bucci.
