I never really thought my life would turn out like this.

Then again, I don't really think about my life in general.

More or less, my thoughts are occupied with making enough money to keep my mother alive and making sure my brother doesn't start a terrorist organization and blow up the parliament building. He seemed to be getting angrier and more troubled as the days went by and the medical bills flew higher and more demanding.

"Hey, Kandie. You're being requested."

I gulped and nodded at my co-worker, Sugako (more commonly known as Ume) , "I'll be out in three."

My eyes darted back to the mirror in desperate need of a good cleaning.

In.

Out.

In.

Out.

I repeated the breathing exercise. I had been doing this job for over a year now. There was really no reason to be this nervous.

I reapplied my mango-flavoured lip gloss and let out one more deep breath.

My French manicured fingertips traced the family photo of my mom and twin reminding myself exactly why I was about to go and feel up a man old enough to possibly be my father whilst feigning naive stupidity and whispering sweet lies for the chances of high tips.

I dug my teeth in to my lower lip to muffle my groans of pain as I rose up from my crappy fold out chair. I gently blew in between my thighs to sooth the pain of last nights cigarette burns.

A client thought he was being funny when he needed to put out his disgusting smelling vanilla cigarettes.

I'm not exactly sure what happened to him. Usually I'd see him twice in a row each week. And by now he normally would've pestered me for some cheap validation to distract him from the fact his life was going to shit.

All I know is this gut feeling I got after seeing the shades of crimson that flashed in to my brother's eyes after telling him about the little "joke"...

It wasn't too far out of the realm of possibility that no one would ever hear from him again.

AN: Asuka's story is nearing its end and I thought while I worked on ch15 I could get some feedback from you guys on the next girl's story preview. I wrote it a while ago, and they'll most likely be some changes in the final version, but what do you think of the direction it's going in?
