Entry #16

Dear Diary,

I can't stop thinking about the lady who rescued me. Her soft blue eyes, her straw colored hair that hung in the most lovely ringlets, her cherry blossom lips...

I see her in my dreams and oh how her figure haunts me when I close my eyes...

Why am I so obsessed with her? Why can't I cast her out of my head? Do I even want to forget such a brave and beautiful vision such as herself?

God, I'm writing about her like some sort of lovesick Shakespearean hero.

. . .

Oh.

I INTERACTED WITH HER ONE TIME HOW THE HELL

I'm just confused...

Yeah that's it...

PRESENT DAY- EITO POV

As soon as Nana finished speaking to the others they began moving closer to examine us.

"Nana, I think you're right. Look at Kurumi. She's nearly an exact replica of the girl in the photograph."

"There's no way Uncle Eisuke knows about them. He wouldn't have let her go if he knew she was pregnant. Besides we would have at least heard about them."

"Um," interrupted Kurmi, understandably offended, "we're right fucking here you know."

Nana sighed and put another stick or pocky in her mouth, "Well this is already boring as fuck. Issy, babe, take Eito and work out or whatever it is guys do. Play a game of baseball or... I don't know. Point is, you guys do something. I'm taking the gals out."

Isao and I looked at each other before shrugging.

"What do you like to do, man?"

I couldn't very well say that lately my free time has been dedicated to my manifesto and looking in to legal loopholes for forming a crime syndicate.

"... Reading." Smooth.

I looked to my side for help only to find the girls had kidnapped my sister and vanished without a trace.

"...Ah."

We stood in silence for a few minutes.

Jesus fuck, this is so awkward.

I decided the best course of action was to gather as much information as possible.

"I heard our father's are good friends. What's your dad like?"

He looked around nervously before muttering, "He's, uh, a gangster from Hong Kong. Specifically he's the boss of the Ice Dragons."

"...Fuck. Yes."

...

"I will gladly take your place. Run off with Nana in to the sunset. I got you, bro."

Isao gave me a small smile of gratitude before shaking his head, "I can't just leave you to a life of the mafia. It wouldn't be right. Even though Mr. Kishi won't let me marry her unless I step down. I know Mother and Father would be supportive and let me go, but it's not something I'd be comfortable shoving off on someone else."

I grabbed both of his shoulders and looked deep in to his cold grey eyes in the least homosexual way possible, "You don't understand. It would be a win-win situation. I've been looking in to starting my own mob, you want to marry the daughter of third most important detective in Japan, it all works out. I can make a slideshow of you need more convincing."

"Wait," he pushed up his glasses, "you want to run a mafia syndicate?"

"Literally the only thing better would overthrowing the Japanese government."

He paused for a moment before grabbing my arms and feeling my chest.

"Woah, at least take me out first. I don't put out unless I've been wined and dined, you know."

He rolled his eyes, "Don't let Kat hear you say that. She'd take you up on that. Take off your shirt. I need to get a better idea of your physique."

Without hesitation I removed my vest and button-down shirt, "Does Katsumi hit on everyone, or is just me she likes to harass?"

Isao eyes my body before motioning for me to spin with his left hand, "Not bad. Surprisingly muscular. Know any martial arts? And sort of. Kat flirts with everyone, even old men, but she looks at you like at you like you're the last piece of meat left in the world."

"I know quite a bit of judo and karate. I'm also not bad at Jiu Jitsu. Do you think I could get her to stop being so creepy around me?"

"Jiu Jitsu, huh? Do you work out? I've know Kat since we were toddlers and she's pretty good about not going too far. I'd let it be and if she's still perusing you, I would talk to Uncle Baba about it. He's the only one that can rein her in besides Kanako, but she's off living in Canada now."

"Not a lot, but I jog and do sit ups rather frequently," I answer with honesty. "And who's Kanako? Is that her mom?"

"You can put your shirt back on," he falls on to the couch, "I'm going to do my best to train you before approaching Father about it."

I didn't bother completely buttoning up the shirt and didn't even try with the vest.

"And no, Kanako isn't her mother. She's Baba and Yuuna's adopted first kid. She gave birth to Katsumi and Kotoko, though. I'm telling you this so you don't feel like a jackass later, but her mom and younger sister are both dead. She watched them get shot in head right in front of her when she was very young by some crazed mafia princess from Italy."

My eyes widened and I joined him on the couch, "Holy fuck."

"Holy fuck indeed." He pushed up his glasses, "Any other questions?"

"What are everyone's parents like?"

Isao tapped the couch in thought, "Well Nana's parents are divorced. I already told you about Kishi, but her mother's a real while card. Ryuuko is, how shall I frame this delicately, completely and utterly batshit crazy. She tried setting a woman on fire once."

Huh, sounds like my kind of lady.

"Then there's Ota and Ayaka and Takahiro. That one's kind of peculiar. Technically Ayaka is married to both Takahiro and Ota- bear with me, they all married outside of the country- and collectively they have four kids. Asuka is the eldest and biologically Ota's. Then there's the eight year old twins: Takeo and Tomoe. They're Taka's. Finally there's six year old Hina. Ayaka and Ota's."

"I... I don't know if I have a comment on that."

"Neither do I and I grew up with them. Anyway, I've literally never heard Yushina say anything about her mother but her dad's an assassin.  Tomoki and Todd are Shuichi and Yolanda's boys. Shuichi's your father's mortal frenemy but Yolanda's nice. Then there's Rhion and Jaden, Honoka, Louis, and Peter's parents. Rhion likes to dress up and eat nothing but sugar and Jaden's one of those no-nonsense types. Oh! And finally there's Victoria and Luke: Lisa's parents. They live in England, though, so we don't see them often. Do you have all of that or would you like me to repeat something?"

I ran over the semi-truck load of information I was just given. I was honestly not expecting this much "family."

"No, no I got it. So... Wanna go get noodles and play blackjack?"

Isao gave me an extremely uncomfortable smile before taking his rectangular glasses off and slicking his hair back with his fingers, "You have no clue what you've just agreed to, my friend."

I smirked back at him, "I should be the one saying that to you, Oh."

My new best friend pulled a deck of card from a nearby drawer, "You're on, Ichinomiya."
