KURUMI POV

"So he like, bought her in a secret underground black market auction and somehow in like, a month or two managed to fall in love for several years until a huge incident with some psychotic rival took place that led to her running away for his protection, not realizing she was carrying his unborn children?"

"Uh, yeah. That sounds about right."

I groaned. So much for this epic romantic love story between a billionaire gentleman and a fair maiden of low social standing. "My dad sounds like kind of a douche-nozzle."

Uncles Ota and Micchi burst out laughing while the corner of Uncle Sor's lip twitched upwards for a fraction of a second.

I buried my hands in my face. I couldn't accept this. There's no way I'd allow Eito to give me his smug "I-told-you-so" face. "PLEASE tell me he has some sort of redeeming quality."

"..."

"..."

"..."

My face went from my hands to one of the decorative checker print pillows on the loveseat, "There has to be something good about him... Mom's awesome... She wouldn't date a total jackass like him for no reason..."

Uncle Micchi gave me a comforting back rub while Uncle Ota started to pet me almost like you would pet a scared puppy.

"Princess, he's not all bad.  You might even be able to say he was a decent human being! It's just... well, Yui leaving sorta... well, he spiraled. He's not a bad guy, he's just..."

Ota sniggered and finished for him, "A walking, breathing dick with money?"

I could tell that's what Uncle Micchi meant but not the words he was going for based on the look he gave Ota.

"He's not wrong..." Grumbled Sor.

"Oh, hush up, the lot of you. He's not a personified penis, he's just depressed," a somewhat familiar accented voice chastised my uncles.

I whipped around to see the source, a small feeling of hope in my stomach. My breathing halted as I laid my eyes upon her. My golden-haired guardian angel. My medical-obsessed obsession.

"You," I managed to breathe out.

Her sharp, piercing gaze softened as she met my light brown eyes. "Hello, Pretty Bones. I'm happy to see you're doing well."

"Y-you remember me?" I squeaked.

She chuckled. Oh god, her voice was like smooth, liquid honey. "How could I ever forget such a lovely lady such as yourself?"

Soryu looked between the goddess and me several times with his eyes, "You two... Know each other?"

"She saved me once a few years ago," I explained, my cheeks tinted pink.

Ota laughed again, "Hah. Gay."

Uncle Sor smacked him upside the head and nodded to my savior, "Elisabeth."

Her smile widened, "Now now, Uncle. You've known me for nearly twenty years now. You've both changed my nappies and seen me graduate. It's Lisa."

"Lisa..." I muttered softly.

She glanced at me, "Yes, Pretty Bones?"

"Um... My name... It's Kurumi..."

"No, I'm aware. You just have such a lovely bone structure... Would you object terribly to me getting an x-ray of your face?"

I heard Micchi sigh under his breath while Ota made a face, "Lu should not be allowed to influence children..."

I probably should have been creeped out by the apparent bone kink, but I felt strangely flattered. I wonder what that says about me...

All of a sudden I was swept off my feet.

Literally.

Lisa picked me up bridal style and flashed a grin to our uncles, "Apologies, gentlemen, but I'm afraid I must take a page from Uncle Mitsunari's and steal this fair maiden away."

Micchi tipped his fedora towards us as the blonde whisked me into the elevator.

I squeaked as she set me down and pinned me to the elevator wall.

"What a gorgeous neck you have... So pale and smooth... Could use a dash of color, though. Wouldn't you say, Pretty Bones?"

I gulped, blood rushing to my face making my skin firey red.

Her dark blue pierced into my brown ones as I shivered beneath the touch of her icy finger on my neck, "Now, love. I'm not going to do anything unless you ask."

"I..."

Suddenly, the elevator door opened and the British beauty spun away from me just as a tall man with a black suit and violet vest walked in to join us.

He raised an eyebrow at the sight of Lisa, "Beth? You didn't say you'd be..." He trailed off as his eyes drifted towards me and I realized who the man was.

His eyes widened in disbelief,  "You..."

I compulsively began to nervously finger gun, "H-he-heyyyy, Dad."

The door closed.
