Aphmau's POV
*Play Song*
~Earlier that day...~
It's been about 5 months since Aaron and I have started dating—and it's been arguably the best 5 months of my life.
He's so perfect, and nice, and—gods—dreamy.
But I'm scared.
I was in one of the bathrooms at the hospital, washing my hands whilst contemplating my many, many thoughts, when I hear a familiar voice.
"Aphmau, there is something I need to tell you—and I know...that you may not trust me all that well, which is completely your right—but you are going to have to trust me now." Lily states, seriousness laced in her frightened voice.
"Sure, Lily, what's going on?" I say, cautious of her trickery.
"I would first like to apologize, for how I acted before—" She starts apologetically, but I interrupt her.
"No, you don't have to apologize." Feeling a bit bad for her, and, of course, guilty for the part I played.
I am dating her freshly ex-husband.
"No, I do—and here's the thing, Aphmau. I'm not here to talk to you about work or anything..." Her head takes a quick swivel of the empty restroom, inching closer to me, almost whispering like the very words were criminal.
"I'm here to warn you."
"Warn me? Warn me about what?"
"About Aaron."
She actually sounded concerned, her eyes dark with pity.
"What?" I ask, disbelief lacing my tone. "What about Aaron—Is this a trick?"
"No, you must be careful with him. I know you've known him for a long time, but—I don't think you really...know him."
"What are you talking about?" Fear starts rattling in my chest, but I keep reminding myself not to trust her. To not give life to what she was insinuating.
"He's a liar, I assure you—he's keeping things from you. He didn't just date me since he left Phoenix Drop, he dated dozens of girls—and he doesn't want kids. He despises them, and that's just the tip of the iceberg."
"What?" My eyes widening with even more horror, the resistance against believing her words weakening as time went on.
The only thing that was surging through my head was extreme confusion—and the painful familiarity of denial.
Actually, those were not the only things...
Fear was there, too.
"Don't believe whatever he says. He may seem like the perfect guy at first because that's his game, but over time, he will change—and it won't be for the better."
As she starts to leave, I ask her one last question.
"Wait, then why didn't you give Aaron the divorce papers long ago?"
"Not everything I did was my choice, Aphmau."
She leaves me alone, once again, in the empty restroom. Worse off then I was before she entered.
I shakily look at myself in the mirror, the creases of my eyelids gathering with tears.
No, she's lying—she has to be.
Or is she?
He...doesn't like kids?
What about all the jokes he made?
All the references to kids?
I was scared before to tell him.
But now.
What would he make me do if he found out about the pregnancy?
Maybe I should just talk to him first, make sure this isn't another one of Lily's tricks...

Lily's POV
"Put this on," I gesture coldly to Gene, handing him a body suit.
"What? Woman, I'm more fit than he is. I don't need no damn body suit." He states, crossing his arms.
"Who are you kidding, Gene?" I shove the suit at him again
"Fine." He sighs, slipping his limbs one by one into the muscular suit.
"Oh, and here, take this mask. I got it from my brother who works at the CIA. It'll make your face look like Aaron and it will make you sound like him too." I explain as I hand him the silicone mask.
"Let's go over the plan again," I continue. "So I did my part by installing some fear and doubt into Aphmau, and so of course, she's is going to ask him about it. So, you'll be there instead because Aaron went out of town for a while to do a neuro consult and when she finds you there, you do whatever you can to make her hate Aaron, got it?" A devilish grin tugs at my cheeks.
"Got it." Gene mirrors my smirk, pressing a button on his mask that transfers to an exact replica of Aaron Lycan's face.
