Come Back For Me - Jaymes Young
Haunting- Halsey
"Ugh, I can't believe I fell asleep" Eleanor said, walking into William's room.
William paused the game he was playing to look at his sister. "You look terrible, did you get any sleep the night before last?" he asked her.
I was lounging on his bed uncomfortably while he had been playing video games on the couch in his room. "No, it was mum's constant bickering that kept me awake" she replied, flopping onto the couch next to her brother.
"I didn't even eat dinner" she said, just as we heard her stomach growl.
"Maybe we can get something when I drop Jamie back off at her house" he said, nodding his head in my direction.
Eleanor swiveled her head around to look at me in shock. "Oh my god! I'm such a terrible host, it was supposed to be a sleepover" she said. "I'm so sorry Jamie!" she squeaked.
"Eleanor it's okay, I still had a nice night and I'm sure we'll do this again" I said, giving her a reassured smile.
She started to beam. "You really think so?" she asked, excitedly.
I nodded and she bounced up and over to me. She tackled me into a hug. She pulled away. "So what did you two do last night?" she asked, a wicked glint in her eye.
"Marvel marathon and had ice cream for dinner" William replied, his eyes glued back to the screen.
She turned to look at me and winked. I shook my head frowning. She pouted. Suddenly, William stood up. "Want me to drive you home now?" he asked, turning towards me.
I slid off the bed and nodded. "What no! I just got up!" Eleanor whinged.
"Well it's eleven and she has to be home by twelve" he said, moving around her and grabbing his car keys.
Eleanor groaned. I moved towards the door. "I'll see you Monday at school" I said, giving her a side hug.
She nodded and I walked out of the house with William in tow. "I'll pick something up for you" he said to his sister as he opened his car door.
I climbed in the passenger side, throwing my bag on the back seat. He started the car and drove around the huge fountain in their driveway. "Thank you for having me" I said as I watched the house disappear.
"Thank you for staying" William replied, a smile on his face.
"Your house is beautiful" I said.
His grin widened. "Well you're welcome over at any time, honestly I haven't seen Ellie this happy in years" he said as I turned to watch the trees speed by.
He turned the radio on and songs blared through the radio. It wasn't long before we were pulling into my street and I grabbed my bag. He pulled up into my driveway and I saw that my father's car was still parked in it. I frowned. "Thank you again William" I said.
"Will, call me Will" he reminded me.
I laughed. "Sorry" I said.
I unclicked my seat belt and climbed out. I waved at him as he backed out of the driveway. I turned around and headed for the front door. With baited breath, I opened the door and peered around. "Where the hell have you been?" my father's voice cut across the silence.
