Can you love me, like I love you?
"Hey, I got you something" I said, walking into Hunter's room.
I stopped when I saw Hunter's bare back. He turned his head to look at me and he gave me a dazzling smile. "Bonjour amour" he said.
I raised an eyebrow. "You must be Jamie" a female voice said from within the room.
My head snapped to the left and saw a pretty blonde folding blankets and placing them on the hospital seat. "I'm Avery" she said, holding out her hand and walking over to me.
"Uh hi" I said, shaking her hand.
"You alright Hunter?" Avery asked, turning to look at him.
Hunter nodded, smiling before turning his head around to face me again. Avery nodded at me before waving goodbye and shutting the door behind herself.
"Do I need to be worried?" I asked, looking back at my boyfriend.
"About Avery? No, she's too blonde.. I prefer girls with red hair" Hunter said, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.
I blushed. "What are you doing out of bed?" I scolded him lightly.
"Waiting for you to come, the doctor said I could walk today but to take it easy because my ribs are still bruised, besides I was getting kind of lonely" he said, lifting my chin up.
My nose brushed his as I took an intake of breath.
Even now, after everything. He still took my breath away."So what did you get me?" He asked as his lips brushed mine.
I was half tempted to just drop the bag and throw Hunter onto the bed. Thankfully, I had enough will to squash that temptation.
I pulled back and Hunter let out a breath of disappointment. "Here" I said, holding the bag up.
A smile teased its way onto Hunter's face as he took the bag and opened it. His face morphed into something of shock. I bit my lip, holding back my laughter.
"Where did you get this?" He asked holding up the book.
"I uh shopped around" I said, not giving it away.
"Do you know how long I've been looking for this book?" He asked still shocked.
"Uh yes, your mother told me your obsession" I replied, smiling.
He grinned, chucking the book on the bed. Hunter stepped towards me and I stepped back. "Uh no, you need to get in bed" I said holding my hands up.
My back hit the concrete wall and my hand fumbled for the doorknob that was somewhere nearby. Hunter caught my hand, bringing it up and holding it up above my head.
