Chapter 17:

~Helena~

The next day we woke up to the light coming on. I think Breeze was already awake because she didn’t seem at all tired or like she just woke up. About a few seconds after the light came on, Raven walked into the room.

“Good morning,” she said. “Breakfast will be here in a minute.”

“So what is the game plan?” I asked.

                “By which you mean…?”

                “What are we doing today?”

Raven sighed. “You two are starting your training. I have no likely what that means for you power wise, but I know you will be working on some running and fighting.”

“Sounds like fun,” Breeze groaned. “I never liked running.”

“Yes, but as I recall you were pretty good at it when we were young,” I said.

She smiled. “That doesn’t mean I liked it.”

“Good point,” I replied. “So Raven, what’s for breakfast?”

She shrugged a reply. “Not sure, but Crystal should be here with it soon.”

I turned my nose up in disgust. “Why her?”

“What did she do?” Julia, or Breeze, asked.

I looked over at her. Her eyes were large with questions. I knew right now she must be terribly confused. It was amazing she was handling it as well as she was. “For starts she is the person that tried to kidnap you the first time.”

                “She is Shifter?”

I nodded. “Yes. She used to be on our side, but sadly her stupidity got the best of her. She betrayed us. If it wasn’t for us happening to run into Logan that day I’m not sure Sean would have made it out alive.”

Julia’s face turned to worry. “I’m not sure I want to know.”

“Don’t have time anyway,” Crystal said walking into the room with two plates in her hands. “I have breakfast. It is just plain toast. Magneto, a.k.a. Erik, thought that it would be better on Breeze’s, a.k.a. Julia’s stomach due to the trauma she went through yesterday.”

                “Yum,” I sighed, “toast.”

Crystal came over and handed the plates to us. Julia actually thanked her, I just gave her a glare, and she is lucky I only did that.

“So,” I said between bites, “how has Miss To-Good-For-Anything-Even-My-Own-Friends-Who-Would-Do-Anything-For-Me-But-I-Would-Gladly-Feed-Them-To-The-Dogs been?”

Crystal smiled at me. “Great, you see people in the Brotherhood actually stand up for what they believe in and not let humans step all over them. Unlike you so called X-men, who just let humans treat you horribly.” She looked at Julia. “If I were you I would side with us and not Xavier and his group of children.”

Julia just smiled at her. “Thank you, but I am sorry to tell you I am an X-men and I am one proudly. I would rather stand up for what I believe in peacefully instead of killing people who dislike me. If I practice what you believe then everyone that went to my high school would be dead right now instead of at school and growing up, learning, and possibly even learning to be better people. You have to give people more than one chance sometimes.”
