Deduction
Equine enthusiasts will often have heavy callouses on each ring finger facing their pinky due to where the reins are held. An individual who does not have callouses here and rides without gloves may receive blisters or irritated skin in the same area.
However, most do wear gloves to stop the reins from burning their hands if the horse coughs or stumbles and the reins are pulled away.
