Deduction
If someone has a callous on the knuckle of their thumb (most likely on their non-dominant hand), it is likely they sucked it well into their childhoods and possibly beyond. If the callous is very tough and unyielding, they probably stopped in childhood. If it is slightly softer along with the thumb and looks slightly different from the other on the pads, the person may still have this habit.
