Deduction
People who openly criticise themselves out loud fall into two categories. Commonly, a person criticising their appearance is usually searching for compliments in those they're regarding, where as people who criticise their abilities tend to have a low sense of self esteem. This, however, differs depending on the relationship they have with the person they're speaking with.
