Münchausen syndrome is characterised by feigning specific illnesses, symptoms, and various disorders in order to gain the attention of hospital staff, friends, or family. Certain people will even go to the lengths of creating their own chemicals that will induce the desired effect. Most of these people are fantastic liars.
