When a person begins their answer by telling about their goodness, accomplishments, righteousness of character, etc., before answering the question, they are most likely being deceptive. This is done because they are trying to convince the person asking the question that they shouldn't be questioned because of their character, or why they would never do such a thing as they're accused of.
