Deduction
To test whether or not a diamond is real, breath on it as you would to fog a mirror. If it stays cloudy for 2 seconds or longer, it's fake. Real diamonds disperse heat instantaneously. Make sure the stone is clean.
However, on certain items where the diamond is epoxied to cubic zirconia, this test is far less than accurate.
