Chapter Seventeen

Ren -

I thought I could sit up after Basel took the blood but he insisted I stay laying down.

"Looking at this at first glance, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong other than the anemia." He said glancing at the results.

"Maybe I'm just tired. I'm feeling better now."

"It can't be just that..." He took another look at the results. He stayed silent until it seemed something hit him. His expression became cold and he stared up at me.

"W-what is it?" I asked reluctantly.

"Ren, when was the last time you had sex?"

I was completely taken back. I felt my face begin to burn.

"What?" I asked.

"I know it's a bit sudden but I need to know to check something."

I was still embarrassed but answered.

"Um, about th-three weeks ago."

"And...was it with Ethan?" I became even more flushed and turned my glance down but still nodded.

"Please, can I examine your abdomen." I wasn't sure where he was going with this but I nodded once again. What if Ethan had an STD?

He pressed his hand in several areas before looking at the results once again.

"What is it?" He didn't say anything for a good minute before finally standing up and going into the hallways to call Ethan.

I was a bit scared at this point. Why wasn't he saying anything?

"What's wrong?" Ethan said once stepping in.

Before Basel could answer, I heard the front door from the lobby open.

"Ren?!" It was Aki's voice.

Basel sighed.

"Bring him in please Ethan. He should hear this too." Ethan did that and when Aki came in he immediately became unsettled.

"What happened? Is Ren okay?" He questioned as he came up to me and inspected me briefly.

"I would have to run a few more tests to make sure but...looking at the results....Ren is pregnant."

"You can't be serious." Ethan said.

"I am."

"How is that even possible?!"

"Ren is an omega and you know it."

"But, fertility in males is extremely low."

"But not nonexistent."

"You son of a bitch!" Aki yelled and lunged towards Ethan.

"Aki! STOP!" I tried to come in between but Rebecca pulled me away. Basel took my place and pushed both in the opposite direction.

"ENOUGH!" Basel shouted.

"Aki, this wasn't his fault." I tried to calm him.

Aki tightly grabbed me by the arms and pulled me away from Ethan.

"We're leaving."

"No! We can't just leave!" I bursted out. I was desperate to stop him from acting this way.

"Ren, let's go!" He tried pulling me away but I pushed him until he let go.

"I'm not going!"

"Akihito, you two need to listen to the risks. What do you intend to do with Ren once you leave?"

Aki didn't say anything.

"Aki, please..." I pleaded one last time.

"What are the risks?" He finally caved into Basel.

"Well, with males there is an increased risk of complications because your body is simply not used to something like this. On top of that, there is Ren being so young and small in stature."

"When can we get it done?" Ethan then asked.

"Get what done?" I asked.

"You can't possibly be thinking of going through with it?!" Aki suddenly raised his voice.

"I..."

"Ren, you can't be fucking serious!" Ethan joined in. I suddenly felt cornered. How could they want be to get rid of this baby so quick only seconds of finding out of it's existence?

"Okay time out. You two, get out. I will talk to Ren alone. You clearly aren't helping." Rebecca suddenly intervened.

"There's nothing to talk about!"

"I said out!" She shouted. The two hesitated but stepped out. I couldn't dare look at their expressions.

I looked up to see Basel had left the room too. It was only me and Rebecca.

"Ren, tell me what you are thinking." She asked calmly.

"I-I don't know. I'm so confused. I-I'm scared." I stumbled. I couldn't think straight. So many things were rushing through my head at once. I made Ethan and Aki mad. I don't want them to hate me.

"It's okay. Everything is going to be alright. No matter your choice, we will be here to support you." I wasn't sure if that included Ethan and Aki.

"I don't know..."

"If you were to going into the room to get an abortion, would you be able to go through with it based on solely what you feel?"

"I..." I took a second but picturing myself in that situation, I couldn't do it. As sudden and confusing as this was, this thing growing inside was my baby, Ethan and I's, and I can't go through with it.

I finally shook my head and quickly looked up at her for confirmation.

"I see. Don't worry about them, they are just worried but, it'll be okay." She smiled up at me.

I had to admit, I was also scared. I had no idea what all this would mean. I was even more terrified of those two but I knew that no matter what, I was going to go through with this.
