Ethan-

After we calmed down, I wiped down Ren's body with a warm damp towel. He put his boxers back on but I pulled him back to bed before he got completely dressed.

We laid in bed, his head resting on my shoulder as I brushed his soft hair.

"You look much better than before." I said.

"Hmm?"

"Your complexion, it looks much better than when I last saw you. It also looks like you put on a few pounds."

"Hnn, Aki has been very pushy on that. He makes sure I eat everything on my plate, sleep at least eight hours, and making sure I take my medicine."

"Medicine?" I questioned.

"Not long after I went with Aki I got pneumonia and had to take some antibiotics. Basel said it was likely from.....being in the cold." I realized that had struck a chord with him. I felt him hold onto my opposite shoulder for comfort and I hugged him.

"I'm sorry I didn't get to you sooner...That I didn't-"

"Don't apologize. Just...hold me." I heard his voice shake as he gripped tighter. Ren has never talked about what Ian did exactly but seeing those scars and that night when we found him by the creek, I realized it was much more than I previously imagined.

I felt his body start to tremble.

"You're with me, okay? Look at me." He lifted his head and I saw his eyes becoming wet with tears.

"I know. You're not Ian. You're not Ian. You're-" He seemed on the verge of cries before he choked up. I held him even tighter.

I hated this. I hated that the son of bitch could still put him in so much pain.

Ren finally seemed to let himself go. I felt warm wet tears against my chest and saw his body shake in my arms.

"You're okay now. I'm not letting anyone hurt you anymore. You're alright." I stroked his head and rubbed his shoulders. At this point I knew there was only so much I could say. I wondered if he'd been able to cry like this since he came back.

Despite having gained weight, Ren was still so small. If anything he just gained enough to cover his rib cage. I wanted to keep him in my arms to protect him and never let go.

It took a while before Ren finally calmed down. When he stopped shaking, I looked down to see his eyes closed - red and swollen from crying. I combed his hair out of his face but realized he had fallen asleep. I was a bit worried he might have passed out from being dehydrated after all that crying but he looked to be breathing normally.

"Ren, don't you have to go back anytime soon?" I whispered trying to wake him up. To be honest, I didn't want him to go but I knew a guy like Akihito wouldn't appreciate me kidnapping his younger brother.

Ren roused awake, blinking and rubbing his eyes as he sat up.

"What time is it?" He mumbled.

"Around two-ten."

"Oh!" He panicked and scuffled down to edge of the bed and reached for his jeans. He pulled out his phone. He sighed and I assumed Akihito had yet to call him.

Before Ren put it down it suddenly started ringing.

"Hello?....I'm alright but, um, I went out for a bit.....Uh, I went to get some coffee and ran into Ethan....." At this point I could here Akihito shouting through the phone.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner.......It's okay, I'll have him drop me off.....Give me until three-thirty, he invited me out to a movie after and it just ended....Sorry.....I'll see you later." He hung up with a beep.

"He sure is protective of you, isn't he."

"Well, I appreciate it but it can be overbearing at times." He said tossing his phone on his jeans. He rubbed his eyes again, still tired from his short nap. I crawled up behind him and pulled into a hug.

"Want me to drop you off now?"

"Yeah, if I make him wait any longer he might have a heart attack." He said leaning back into my chest, clearly not wanting to leave either.

Despite that, we proceeded to get dressed. I helped Ren into his jeans since he still seemed a bit sore.

Once we were ready, we headed to my car and I drove him to Akihito's place. During the ride, I noticed Ren resting his head on the window about to fall asleep.

"Have you not been sleeping well?"

"More or less..."

When we got to his place, Ren insisted I not go inside and let me drop him off at the door.

"Oh, give me your phone." I said. Ren did and I quickly saved my number to his contacts.

"I'll call you later."

Ren gave a slight nod before heading into the building. I somehow felt lonely as soon as he left.
