Chapter 9:The Goblin

Norman Osborn stood in a capsule as Otto started to inject him with a green serum. He then proceed to close the door to the capsule as Norman started to scream. He headed over to a control panel and pulled a lever that released a green gas into the capsule. Otto looked at Norman and spoke."The Oz serum and the gas should help you maintain control and subdue any side effects". Norman let out a scream and proceed to break the capsule door. He then stepped out with a satisfied grin on his face and then turned to look at Otto."Get the armor ready, Otto. For now i must get to Midtown high to pick up my son". Otto nodded at this as Norman put his shirt and blazer back on and walked out of the room.

At Midtown high, many students were leaving the building as school had just ended. Peter sat on the steps on the main entrance with Gwen,Harry,Mary jane,and his other friends Michelle and Ned as the group were discussing about the appearance of Spider-man and who he really was. "He has to be an avenger"Ned had told the group"how else does he have that awesome suit and tech".Peter and Gwen smiled at this. Michelle looked at Ned a bit sceptical as she spoke."If he's an avenger, why does he wear tights,then.Wouldn't he have a high tech suit". The rest of the group laughed at this even Peter who had to control himself from scolding at the statement. Peter looked at the group and spoke."Well he could be an avenger or you know trying to prove that he can be an avenger". The rest of teens looked at peter confused before Harry broke the silence."Well it doesn't matter what he is, by the way Pete. How do you take all those photos of Spider man when there's danger?". Everyone turned to Peter as he quickly grew nervous,but everyone had turned their attention to a male speaking."Hello Peter". The man standing in front of them was Norman Osborn.

Peter sighed at this and spoke to Norman."Hello Mr.Osborn". Norman then turned to his son and spoke."Harry we must go now. Say goodbye to your friends". Harry looked at the group and said goodbye to them as he walked with his father to limbo parked outside of the front gate. The group said goodbye to each other as Peter and Gwen decided to head to the library. Gwen looked at Peter and then spoke to him."So how did it feel to talk about yourself?".Peter shrugged at this and then answered her."It was pretty weird,but Michelle didn't really need to bash me about my suit". Gwen laughed at this as Peter crossed his arm due to his pride. Peter looked at his girlfriend and smiled."So how long will we be at the library?Because i have to be at home by eight because you know i'm grounded". Gwen looked at Peter and answered his question."Probably for an hour or so". The two then made her way to the subway and got on the train.

At the Oscorp Penthouse Norman and Harry had entered the penthouse as Harry looked at his Father who had taken put his phone."Let me guess. Something happened at work.Can you just ignore it?". Norman looked at his son."No. I have to leave. Behave yourself while i'm out". Harry watched as his father walked to the elevator as gave him a dirty glance and spoke under his breath."Bet you would stay if Peter was your son".Once in the elevator Norman started to grin as he held his phone with a text from Otto saying"it is done". Norman then made his way to the limbo as it drove back to Oscorp.

Peter and Gwen sat in the library. The two were currently studying a book on nanotechnology written by Oscorp industries. Peter looked at Gwen happily as he then spoke to her."I still don't get why you want to study nanotech for?". Gwen looked at her boyfriend a bit irritated by this and then answered his question."Well i thought that it would be easier for you to suit up and take your web shooters with you everywhere when there's trouble". Peter looked at her with gratefulness and then spoke."I get that, but Mr.Stark wouldn't like that idea because he has a sort of rivalry with Oscorp". Gwen looked at him with a bit of irritation at this information."Can he just drop it already? Oh,by the way how's the trying to be an avenger thing going for you?". Peter looked at and sighed."Not that great. My mom is in charge of deciding if i should be an avenger or not". Gwen looked at him with sympathy and then spoke."Must be tough being the son of black widow. Your mom is very protective of you". Peter looked at his girlfriend and chuckled."Yeah,that's because i'm her only kid". Gwen looked at him confused. She knew that Peter only had a mother and read a bit about the black widow from records that were leaked onto the internet,but never understood why Natasha never settled down and had another kid."So what happened to your father?". Peter looked at her a bit worried of what to say before sighing."I never had a dad. My birth parents died when i was just a month old. My mom said she found me in an orphanage that was about to be closed down and that the woman who ran the orphanage died a week after she had adopted me. Plus the only real person that felt like a father to me was my mom's boyfriend Bruce, but he went off the radar after the incident with Ultron had happened.And my mom can't have kids as well because of the red room. After they graduate their sterilized so they can never have kids,just killers". Gwen looked at her boyfriend with sadness in her eyes before Peter could see or say anything to her he felt his phone buzz. He took it out and saw a text from his mother saying to meet her at avengers tower. He grabbed his backpack as Gwen soon followed and the two headed out of the library as Peter told her where he had to go, as she decided to tag along.

Within the lab of Oscorp,Norman who was currently wearing green armor and Otto stood in front of a set of tools that included bombs shaped like pumpkins,a bat shaped glider with missiles,Gas grenade shaped like ghost and jack-o-lanterns,and razor sharp boomerangs. Norman gave a sinister smile as he padded Otto on the back."Excellent work Otto". Otto looked at Norman and responded as Norman was putting on a goblin helmet with an opened mouth and bright yellow eyes."Thank you sir, now remember you just have to trap the Spider, not kill him". Norman laughed at this and proceed to place his feet onto the glider."I can do whatever i want to the Spider, for today i am the Green Goblin!". Norman then glided his way out of the lab as he proceed to the skyline of New York.

As Peter and Gwen were about to enter the tower they saw People screaming as the Goblin was throwing Pumpkin bombs at People. Peter and Gwen quickly rushed into the building and head to the common area of the tower. As the elevator was heading up Peter quickly changed into his suit as the door had opened revealing that the avengers had already left to deal with the goblin. Peter looked at Gwen as he was putting his mask on and headed to the balcony."F.R.I.D.A.Y. make sure Gwen is safe.Activate defense protecall. Gwen stay here, i don't want you to get hurt". Gwen nodded at this as she pulled up Peter's mask and kissed him on the lips."Be careful". Peter nodded at this and pulled his mask down and jumped off the balcony as he shot out a web to swing from. Gwen looked at him as he swung away into action."Mrs.Stacey please enter the building. Defensive Protecall is now activated". Gwen nodded at F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s response as she entered the building. Peter saw the avengers engaging in battle with the Goblin. He then saw the Goblin grab his mother and throw her from high up in the air. Peter quickly shot out a web that had caught her before she hit the ground. He then swung towards her to make sure she was okay."Mom are you okay? I swear i gonna make that guy regret doing that to you!". Natasha looked at her son as he was helping her up. She then spoke as Tony shot a repulsor beam at the goblin."I'm okay kiddo. For now attack from a distance and attack him with your range technology". Peter nodded at his mother as he shot out a web and went to help Tony. The goblin was dodging all attacks with ease and then looked over to see Peter swinging his way towards him. The goblin laughed at this as he shot a gas grenade towards the teen who dodged it easily."The spider had appeared! Now you will face the fury of the Green Goblin!". Peter looked over to Tony and Vision and spoke."This guy is Nuts! Mr.Stark. Vision how do we beat him?". Vision looked over to the teen as Wanda,Clint,Captain America, and Black widow had regrouped with the rest of the team."My analysis shows no points of damage. I suggest that Spider man and Iron man attack from the sides as Hawkeye and Black widow attack from the back and Scarlet witch and Captain America attack from the front. I will attack him from above". The team nodded at this as Cap yelled orders."You heard him,Avengers and Spider-man Assemble!". The team quickly followed orders as they all rushed at the goblin.

The Goblin grew more annoyed by this and shot out missiles towards the avengers causing Clint, Wanda, and Steve to be hit hard. Peter then shot out a web as he propelled himself towards the Goblin. The Goblin laughed at this as he grabbed the teen by the neck and spoke."I have been waiting for you. Now you better behave!". The Goblin then threw the teen towards avenger's tower causing him to break the window as he landed in front of Gwen. Gwen rushed over to him as the Goblin entered the building. F.R.I.D.A.Y quickly sent five sets of Iron man armor to fight off the Goblin. The Goblin laughed at this and fought off each of the armors with ease. As this was occurring Gwen was helping Peter up from the ground, as he spoke."Thanks. Now get out of here before he notices you". Gwen was about to protest when she screamed. Peter looked up to see the Goblin grab Gwen and laugh menacingly. The Goblin then threw a razor sharp boomerang at Peter who dodged it easily. The Goblin then proceed to leave the building as Gwen was shouting for Peter to help her."Spider-Man!you save the girl! Or else she might accidentally fall!". The Goblin laughed as he proceeded to glide away with Gwen as Peter followed them angrily."Gwen!Hang on!I'm coming to get you!".

The goblin has finally appeared. This version of Goblin will be a mixture of the ones from the Sam Raimi spider man films and the Ultimate Comics Spider-man version of the Goblin. Anyway,Next time on son of black widow. Gwen is captured by the goblin causing Peter to give chase. During a fight with the Goblin,Peter's worst fear comes true. What will happen to Gwen?.
