Chapter 28: “No Ryan...”
Lynsey’s POV:
We got back to the house around 2:15 and Shawn went in the kitchen to make lunch as soon as he got me onto the couch. I took out my phone and started going through Instagram feed (I may have an obsession) Payton had posted a #mancandymonday and of course it was a picture of me the last time I stole her phone and took some atrocious photos of myself, or if you prefer selfies. Under the picture she wrote;
“So hot your eyes melt. ;D #mancandymonday #alldayeveryday #shessingle #hitherup #hottie”
Of course she picked the worst photo of the bunch, Thank you Payton. I kept going through everything and I had just stopped at a post that one of the many fitness pages I follow had posted when Ryan’s name popped up on the screen, just like before when Melissa had called. I looked up at the time, 2:40 he wasn’t kidding when he said he’d call me when school was over. I debated on picking it up or not and decided that I should just get it over with. I answered my phone and took a deep breath before bringing it to my ear. “Hello?”
“Hey Lyns.” Ryan’s sweet voice came from the other end.
“Hi.” I said meekly, I can’t do this. Oh my god, I’m going to freak out. ohmygodohmygod.
“Where were you today? I was hoping to see you.” he asked curiously.
I swallowed, “Doctor.”
“Oh. Well can I come over and…” he started.
This is it. This is the time.
“I don’t think that’s such a good idea.” I interrupted.
He stopped, “Oh. Um… okay. Are you okay?”
I stayed silent for a little while before going on, I felt my eyes water and my heart break, “No. I’m not.”
“Well then I’m coming over right now Lyns. And you can’t stop me.” he said quickly.
My mind raced back to the conversation I had had on Saturday,
“Hey Ry.”
“Wrong.”
“Umm… who is this?”
I heard Melissa’s snicker, “Melissa, Ryan’s girlfriend.”
“His… his what?”
“His girlfriend. Now do me a favor and leave my Ry-Ry alone or else I’m going to hunt you down. Okay bitch?” she talked confidently. To confidently.
“Umm… I uh...”
Melissa laughed loudly on the other end, “Just do as your told, Princess and I wont hurt you.”
“I know about her Ryan.” I said.
Ryan stayed silent on the other end for a few seconds before replying, “About who?”
“Like you don’t know,” I felt a tear roll down my cheek, “Did you really think I wasn’t going to find out?”
“Lynsey, what are you talking about?” Ryan asked, sounding completely unsure of what I was saying.
“I’m talking about your girlfriend Ryan.” I said angrily, hoping he didn’t hear the sadness in my voice.
“Girlfriend? What the-”
“You know. The one who called me on your phone on Saturday and said that if I didn’t leave you alone that she was going to ‘hunt me down’.” I interrupted him again.
