Chapter 36: Similar Differences between Reality and Dreams.

Lynsey's POV:

I felt like I was in a fairy tale or one of those sappy romance novels. I felt light-headed, but in a good way. I couldn't stop smiling and I felt as if I was riding on a cloud and that nothing, and I mean nothing, could ruin this moment. Unless I woke up. That might do it.

So take a guess what happened next, that's right, I woke up. I woke up to a bright, blinding, stupid light shining through the window of my stupid, lonely room. None of it had actually happened. Dammit. It was all just a dream? You have to be kidding me.

I am. I'm totally kidding you. It wasn't a dream, it wasn't a romance novel, it was real life. It was really happening. I was really Ryan Rowan's, the most perfect guy who basically every girl in twelfth grade wanted to be their boyfriend, girlfriend. I was really kissing Ryan Rowan as mine. He was mine. His lips were mine. His warm hands, mine. His drop-dead gorgeous smile, mine. His deep blue, get completely lost in, eyes were mine. He was mine. This wasn't a dream, no, this... this was reality. And with reality, you can't control what happens next, you don't know what's going to happen next, anything could happen next.

And... It was almost as if on cue that my cell phone rang.

I groaned and came off of my tippy toes, grabbing my phone from my purse and ignoring the call before placing it back inside.

"You want to go and get some brunch?" I asked and Ryan smiled down at me, taking his hands from my sides and grabbing a hold of my free hand and using his other to pick up his guitar.

"Hang on." I said and released my hand from his. I took out my phone and took a picture of the 'BE MINE?' that was written on the ground, this is something I will never want to forget. "Okay." I walked back to him and took his hand before walking with him, down the street to a little cafe on the corner a couple of blocks away. The bell chimed when we got inside and we walked over to our right towards a little booth by the window. I sat across from Ryan and smiled, all I could do was smile.

"What can I get you?" our short, red-headed waitress asked with a small black notepad in one hand and a pen in her right hand, the tip just barely touching the paper.

"I'll take a coffee with a banana nut muffin." Ryan said and our waitress, whose nametag read Lillian, scribbled down his order. She looked over at me and I told her that I would just take the same thing. She smiled and walked back to the counter.

"So who was it that called you?" Ryan asked, he wasn't prying, just asking politely.

"Oh, nobody." I said, waving it off, "A warning though, they'll probably call back again in a few minutes."

Ryan nodded as the waitress placed our coffees down in front of us.

"Thank you." I smiled as she brought our muffins over. She nodded before going to assist another table.

After making my coffee how I wanted I took a sip and looked over at Ryan over my mug's rim. He was staring at me, "What?" I laughed, setting my coffee back down on the table.

Ryan snapped out of whatever trance he was in and grabbed his coffee, "Nothing."

I gave him a half smile and went to take a bite of my muffin, my phone rang again.

And again I ignored it, this moment would not be ruined. But after the third time I ignored the number, Ryan started to get suspicious.

"Is everything okay?" he asked, "You know you can get it."

"Everything's perfectly fine." I lied.

Ryan gave me a doubtful look but continued to eat his muffin.
