"ETHAN!" I heard Grayson shout from the kitchen. I giggled, turning the corner and entering the room to see the two boys in their Nike sweats, standing at the kitchen counter. "What has Ethan done now." I said, walking up to them. They were looking down at the floor, Ethan laughing his ass off as Grayson massaged his foot. I curiously stood on my tippy toes and looked over the counter, to see a big mess on the cupboards and floor.
"Ethan dropped the freaking pan on my toes!" Grayson said, groaning. "I-" Ethan burst out laughing. "I was trying to flip the pancake, but Grayson scared me in the act, so the pan flew outta my hand in the air and it landed on his foot, so-" he laughed again. "So Grayson fell back and knocked the bowl of pancake mix off the counter, you shoulda seen it!" Ethan let out a loud laugh, as Grayson bent down to pick up the pan. I started laughing throughout Ethan's story too, but Grayson looked rather annoyed. "Ha-ha, I have a broken toe now, so funny." Grayson mocked, throwing the pan in the sink.
"Don't be such a drama queen, Graybear." I snorted as he shot me a look. "Do not call me that." He threatened, Ethan laughing, "I dig it, Graybear." He said, Grayson swing his hand in his direction but Ethan dodging it by running off. "Don't start or I'll tell her mom used to call you Eeteeweetee!" Grayson yelled after him. I my jaw dropped and I looked over at Ethan who had a shocked look on his face. It stayed silent and Ethan shot me a warning look.
"If you laugh, I will end you." He told me sternly.
I pressed my lips together as hard as I could, but bursted out laughing. "I'm sorry, Ethan!" I shouted after him as he left the room. "I'm outta here!" He jokingly yelled back, going into his room I assumed.
I looked back at Grayson, still laughing and shaking my head. "I'll help you clean up." I said, walking around the kitchen island to where he was, kneeled down on the floor.
"Could you get a wet cloth and clean off the cupboards?" Grayson asked me as he picked the shards of glass off the floor. I nodded and looked under the sink, finding a bright blue cloth. I ran warm water over it and started to clean the cupboards. We both stayed silent, and even throughout the whole apartment there wasn't a sound to be heard.
After cleaning off the floor I washed off the cloth, and Grayson stood up too throwing the glass into a separate container. I washed my hands, hung out the cloth, then wiped my forehead.
"Is it okay if I jump in the shower real quick?" I asked Grayson, who nodded. "If Ethan's not already in it, then, sure." He said, pressing his lips together.
"Kay," I smiled lightly, then turned on my heel. I picked up my right foot to start walking towards the bathroom, but Grayson shouted, "Watch out!" loudly and wrapped one of his arms around my waist, tightly pulling me back against him.
I down at the floor as Grayson bent down to pick something up, and I felt his arm slide from my waist, his touch sending an electric feeling through my lower stomach, my lips parting in surprise.
"That would've been been bad." He chuckled, picking up a piece of glass that had a sharp, pointy edge that pointed upwards. He held it up, gave me a light smirk and then laid it on the counter top. "Life saver." I got out, forcing a giggle as I was still confused. "Foot saver." He corrected, laughing.
I made my way towards the bathroom, knocking first to make sure I didn't walk in on anything awkward, and when I didn't get an answer I pushed the door open and went in.
I let out a breath I didn't even realize I was holding, quietly closing the door behind me and leaning against it. The feeling was still there, lingering in the pit of my stomach and each time I thought back to his arm and my waist, it amplified.
I pushed myself away from the door and shook my head at myself. I chose to ignore the feeling, and began undressing to get in the shower, where the feeling slowly disappeared again.
