Shailene's POV
I brought my right hand up to my face to rub my sleepy eyes, when I noticed my pillow felt weird. And my left hand was holding something.. or.. someone's arm..
I slowly opened my eyes to see Grayson's smirk in my direction. "Yeah, that's my arm." He said, referring to the squeeze I was giving it to determine what it was. I quickly let go of it, chuckling. "Sorry," I apologized, wiping under my eyes. Grayson had his phone in his hand, and he was scrolling through Twitter, just like last night.
"Did we fall asleep together?" I asked him, thinking back to last night but not remembering when it ended. "You fell asleep on my shoulder, and I didn't want to wake you up, so I just stayed with you." He explained, smiling sweetly. "I'm sorry," I said again.
"Don't apologize. Sleep well?" He asked me, chuckling, as I sat up in bed. "Yeah," I said, smiling back at him. "Did you sleep okay? Seeing you couldn't move very much." I asked him, turning red in the cheeks. "I slept fine, don't worry about it Shay." He assured me, scratching his chest.
It stayed silent for a few awkward seconds, where we just looked at eachother.
"Eh- So, do you want some... coffee? Or, should I go make some?" I asked him, mentally slapping myself for stuttering. He just looked so fine, laying there.. I can't believe I slept on his bare shoulder. And who looked that good in the morning? Certainly not me.
"Yeah, if you want to do that, then I'd love some coffee." He said, smiling at me. "Okay," I whispered, awkwardly climbing over him to get off the bed. I hurriedly fixed the back of my shorts to make sure my ass didn't pop out before I walked off, into the kitchen.
Ethan stood there, eating apple wedges when he looked up at me. "Hey, do you know where Grayson is?" He asked me, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. I nodded my head, crossing my arms over my chest. I was completely aware that the no-bra situation there was pretty visible, as awkward as that was back there with Grayson.
"Yeah, he's in my room." I said, earning a weird look from him. "Not like that, Ethan." I scoffed, hitting his arm as I walked over the the coffee machine. "Alright," He chuckled, taking another wedge with him and walking into the hallway.
Ethan's POV
"Bro, where were you last night?" I asked him, standing in the doorway. Grayson looked up at me. "You kicked me out, remember." He said, giving me a death stare. "That was a joke, and you know it." I rolled my eyes at my brother. "Maybe I didn't, Ethan." He shot back.
"Well, so then what? You sneak into Shay's bed, without a shirt too? You fuckboy?" I joked, knowing he didn't like it when people called him that. "Eth-, I'm not-" He defended.
"Eth-, I'm not-" I mocked him and his hand gestures.
"I was gonna sleep on the couch, but I got bored so I went into Shay's room to see if she was still awake, and we scrolled through social media for a while until she fell asleep on my shoulder. And I didn't want to wake her up, so I stayed." I explained hurriedly, trying to keep my voice down.
"So, what, you guys made out too?" I teased, making him drop his phone. "Ethan! Can you leave?" He yelled at me, but not too loud. I laughed as he wiped his face.
"I'm just saying. There's something happening here." I said, pointing at him. "You've got it wrong, Ethan." He said, shaking his head and picking his phone back up.
"Denial. Have a nice morning." I said, walking into the bathroom.
Shailene's POV
"I was, until I saw your face!" Grayson shouted as Ethan walked into the bathroom, laughing. I entered the guestroom with two cups of coffee.
