Taylor's POV

I woke up screaming. The covers were damp with my own sweat; it took me a moment to calm myself down. Once I'd caught my breath, I rolled over to check the time on my phone: 8:36. I stumbled out of my room and switched on my docking station. The apartment felt so silent and empty without my music playing.

Just as I sat down on the black, leather sofa I was startled by a loud knock at the door. I didn't even think about the fact I was still in my pajamas or that I had no make up on, I knew who it would be.

'Tay, are you okay? I heard screaming, what happened?' Cristina said as she burst through the door gasping for air, she looked scared and I could see tears brimming in her bright, emerald eyes.

'I'm fine, I ... I just h-had a bad dream...again' I don't quite know why but I couldn't get my words out.

'Oh honey no, not again. Come here,' she said stretching out her arms towards me, I gladly fell into them and as I did I felt hot tears come streaming down my cheeks. I rested my head on her chest and she whispered in my ear to calm me down 'Shhh, it's okay. I'm here now. I'm always here for you' and she was right.

Cris had always been there for me we'd know each other since the first day of primary school and we've been basically inseparable since. She was the only one who stuck by me all the time and although we've had our fair share of petty arguments, we've never majorly fallen out. I just couldn't imagine not having her around: I tell her everything, I could trust her with my life and most of all she always knows how to cheer me up and make me smile.

I don't know how we got there, everything was a blur of colour through the sudden rush of tears, but we were sat on my sofa I'm guessing it was about 9 or maybe 9:30, actually I have no idea, the sun was bright and it made the view of the city from my large windows, which stretched from the floor to the ceiling right along one wall, look like a painting. I lived in Liverpool, England in an apartment block, number 115 to be precise on the 11th floor; Cris lived directly above me on the top floor of the building. Our apartments were almost identical with the same cream carpets and tiled floors, crisp white walls the modern kitchen and living room the only difference was her's was slightly bigger and due to her being on the top floor she had a roof terrace, which I was extremely jealous of.

"Are you okay then?" Cris spoke first and broke the long silence

"Yeah, I just overreacted' I suddenly felt embarrassed and my cheeks flamed red.

'I'm guessing it was the same dream then?' she stared at her lap and started playing with her hands, I guess she felt uneasy about asking me

'Yes. I don't want to talk about it.' I snapped at her, I didn't mean to be so rude but she knows I'm not one for talking about feelings and all that sensitive shit.

'I know, but just remember if you ever do want to talk about it, even if it's at 2am, I'm here and I'll always listen," she said giving me a hug her short, light brown hair tickling my neck.

"Sorry, thank you. Hey, I just thought, how did you know to come over?" It just dawned on me that she appeared right when I needed her, she always did.

"Are you kidding? I'm surprised you didn't wake the whole of Liverpool with that scream!" we both giggled then she got up to leave.

"w-where are you going?" I asked

"Some of us have jobs to get to" she shot me a sarcastic glance

"Oh yeah. But come over as soon as your back will you?" I hated being alone. Everyday it was the same old story: walk up, put music on, watch the world go to work from my sofa, maybe go out then wait for Cris to finish work.
