I walked up the stairs and saw Jacob sitting on the other set of stairs. He looked up from his phone and looked around

"How'd it go?"

"She said she'll do it"

"The adoption?"

"Yes"

"Did you try to talk her into keeping it?"

"She turned me down when I asked"

"Remember, you still have about eight months to change her mind"

"She isn't going to change her mind" I said looking at the floor

"Trust me, she will"

"She won't, she made that clear. You're trying to make me get my hopes up just so that I can be let down"

"I know Skylar, she won't go through with it"

"I know her too Jacob. If she says she isn't or is going to do something, she doesn't change her mind"

"Did you hear what you just said?"

"Yes"

"That's my point Tanner, she was going to get an abortion but you got her to change her mind. I promise that you can change her mind again"

"I hope so"

I walked into the front room and sat on the couch. I tried to clear my mind but I just couldn't shake the thoughts from my head. I felt like crying, just because I don't know what to do. Jacob has a point, but what if he's wrong? What will I do then? I love her with all my heart but I don't know if I'll be able to look at her the same way again. We made a promise that no matter what happens, we'll get through it together. That's one of the reasons I don't want her to get rid of it, we are supposed to get through it together but she wants to run away from her problem. I'm trying to respect what she wants, but we both want different things and I don't know if we will ever recover from it.
