Skylar's POV

We walked out of the airport and were greeted by my aunt Samantha and my uncle teddy.

"Skylar!" Samantha called out

"Sammy" I replied running up to her

I heard an awkward cough coming from behind me

"Oh, teddy, Sammy, this is Tanner. He is my boyfriend"

"Well, we are glad you could make it. It's nice to meet you" teddy said putting his hand out and Tanner shook it

"It's nice to meet you too sir" he said smiling

Sammy held out her hand and he shook hers too. Parker came up and hugged them before we all got into the car for a two and a half hour drive.

We reached the farm at around 7:30 and it was already dark outside. We got out of the car and grabbed our bags from the trunk.

They showed Tanner and I to our room and Preston was staying in my cousin's room.

"Once you get settled in, come down to the backyard. We've got a surprise set up for you"

"Teddy, you shouldn't have"

"We haven't seen you since you were fifteen. I think we needed to" I smiled at him then he left the room

"Your family is nice" Tanner said breaking the silence

"I know, I've missed them so much"

"I'm glad you invited me babe" he said hugging me "this will be fun"

"I'm glad I invited you too. If I didn't, I'd be sharing a bed with Parker" I laughed a little

"Oh, wow, I see how it is. I'm your excuse to not have to share a bed with your brother. I'm insulted"

"I was just kidding Tanner"

"I know" he said pulling me onto the bed and climbing on top of me

"We have no time to play Tanner, we've got to go downstairs"

"Not yet" just as he said that he started tickling me. I started to laugh uncontrollably

"Tanner...stop.....stop it" I managed to say in between breathes but he didn't listen.

I took the chance to crawl out from under him and run to the other side of the room. He chased after me but I swerved past him and jumped up on the bed grabbing a pillow. As he came towards me, I threw the pillow at him then ran out of the room and down the hall. I could here him running after me and we were both laughing hysterically.

"Oh, hey Parker" I said darting past him

"...hey" he replied confused

I made it to the kitchen and almost out the back door when I felt something grab ahold of my arm. I flew backward and Tanner caught me.

"Did you really think you could get away from me?" He replied with a smirk on his face

"One could only hope" I said with a sarcastic smile

"Haha, so funny, I forgot to laugh"

"Hey that's what Vern said in stand by me"

"Are you ever going to get over those movies?"

"Nope"

"You are so strange" he laughed then kissed me quickly "let's go outside"

He took my hand and I followed him out the back door. The yard had white lights strung everywhere and I could smell the fresh barbecue coming from the platters sitting on the tables scattered under the lights and the stars. Felt a small pair of arms wrap around me and I looked down to see my seven year old cousin James gripping onto me. I instantly smiled and picked him up. People looked up at me and a swarm of people came running towards me.

Everyone was happy to see me back and they welcomed Tanner. I took a little bit of time to talk to each of my family members and friends that I haven't seen in a little over four years. Most of my family lives out here in Alabama it's pretty much just my parents and I that live in San Diego. I'm not complaining though, I miss my family a lot but I got to spend my life with Tanner as my best friend and now he is my everything.

"Skylar?" I heard a voice crack behind me

I knew that voice. I turned around and saw a face I was hoping I wouldn't see.
