Wedding Preparations

1 week later

I walked into work as usual. All week, Will wasn't speaking to me. He was still angry that I was marrying Katherine.
He went ballistic last night. Me and Katherine had agreed that Katherine would move in with me and Will.
I still had to tell everyone else. Like Rebecca, Michael and Eve.

We'd decided on the date of the wedding, which was to be in two months time. There was a lot to do in such a short time, but I was the CEO. And Katherine used to be the CEO. If we could both run a company single handedly, then we could plan a wedding within two months.

There was no more awkwardness between us anymore. In fact, we were actually making an effort to get along with each other, since we would be marrying each other.
Actually, to be perfectly honest, I was a bit excited about the whole thing. Not that I'd admit that to Katherine.
I loved her. I always had. So, I was happy to marry her.

'Hey Kath.' I said to her as I entered the lab.

She gave me an annoyed look. 'Kath??'

'Don't you like the nickname?' I grinned. I was getting way too comfortable around her.

'Call me Kath again, and I'll break your legs.' She smiled innocently.

I shook my head in amusement, but then noticed Phillipa giving us a curious look.
We hadn't told anyone else at Calimov about us getting married, so a lot of employees were wondering why we were so playful and friendly around each other than usual.

I ignored Phillipa and went into my office, where Michael was waiting, on one of the black chairs.
Thanks for telling me Katherine. I thought sarcastically.
'Erm, hey Michael. What's up?' I asked.

He frowned. 'I was with Will and Lily the other day. Just hanging out. And Will was complaining.'

'About what?' I asked casually, powering up my computer.

'About you and Katherine getting married.'

Shit.

I looked up at him. 'Erm, yeah, he's not best pleased.'

'When were you planning on mentioning it?' He inquired.

'Not sure.' I shrugged. 'Didn't think it was important.'

'Not important??' He stood up. 'As far as I know, you're both not even in a relationship last time I checked. And you're Katherine's boss! I hope you're not thinking of giving her pay rises or promotions because of this-'

'Michael, relax.' I interrupted. 'I'm not going to let our marriage interfere with work. I mean, our relationship hasn't interfered with it yet, has it?' It would be easier to pretend we were already in a relationship.

'You mean to say-'

'Yes, me and Katherine are in a relationship. We've been together for a while now. I proposed to her last week.' I lied.

'Well that's the first I've heard of it!' He frowned.

'Well we didn't want it to interfere with work. That's why we didn't tell anyone.' I shrugged.
'Well, good. I hope this doesn't interfere with work. Otherwise I'll have to speak to the board-'

'Michael, chill out.' I rolled my eyes. 'It won't. Promise.'

'Okay.' He nodded. 'So... When's the big day?'

'I'm two months.' I said shortly.

'Two months? Blimey.' He shook his head.

'You're invited too if you want.' I told him.

'You sure?'

'Yeah, sure. You're practically a friend.' I said. Best to get on his good side.

'Thanks Nick.' He smiled. 'If you need a reception venue, I recommend the Quinn Hotel. Beautiful place.'

'Erm, thanks Michael.' I typed in "Quinn Hotel" on the internet, and I saw that it was only a few miles from here. I looked at the official website. It really was beautiful. Within our budget, too.

I took out my phone and texted Katherine:

What do you think of the Quinn Hotel for our reception venue? X

She texted back almost immediately:

It's nice, but it's a bit cheap. X

I raised an eyebrow and typed back:

Jeez, how expensive do you want it? It's in our budget, and that's all that matters. I've already let you sort out transportation. Give me a break x

She replied with:

Fine. I'll think about it x

I shook my head. Katherine wasn't accepting anything under "cheap". She wanted classy, expensive (but in our budget) and extravagant.
