Katherine's POV

Oh Nick. What am I going to with myself? I'm a middle aged woman, with a decent job, financially stable and I'm marrying you, my best friend and boss.
I told you I loved you. And I do. But I don't know if I should lose my heart to you, and end up breaking my heart if we ever fell out.
Love makes you weak.

'Erm, Miss? Miss? We're here.' The taxi driver said, trying to get my attention.

'What? Oh yeah, sorry.' I said and paid him, before forcing myself to walk through the reception doors of Calimov.

In truth, I wasn't too keen on coming into work today. I had a feeling that things would be awkward between me and Nick after last night.
After the pizza, I'd driven Nick home and went home myself. I could hardly sleep though. Nick's words were going through my head over and over again.

I love you.

Did he really mean it? Or was he just trying to stop me from calling the wedding off because he wanted his dad to get that bloody business deal?

I sighed and signed in before I headed for the lab.

Nick was sitting in the lab when I walked in.
'You forgotten that you're CEO, Nick?' I joked. I hoped that joking around would stop any awkwardness from settling in.

He smiled. 'No, I haven't. Actually, I need to talk to you.'

Oh god. This was about last night, wasn't it? He was going to tell me that he didn't mean any of what he said.

'You can take half the day off if you want.'

I stared at him. 'Why?'

'I'm case you've forgotten, your sister, Emily is coming today, to stay with you. So she can help you with wedding stuff.' He reminded me. 'And Eve and KT are coming back today as well. Apparently Zac's coming with them too.'

'Oh, of course.' I nodded.

Nick's POV

I got back to see Will, Lily, Abe, Zac, Eve and KT in the kitchen.
Eve saw me. 'Uncle Nick!' She walked over and hugged me.

'Hi Eve. I've missed you.' I said. 'Hi KT, Zac.'

They both said hi and I made more coffee and tea.

Katherine's POV

I opened the front door, where my sister was waiting.
'Katherine! Sis! It's been too long!' She said dramatically and hugged me.

'Hey Em.' I smiled. 'Yes, it has been too long. I've missed you.'

'I've missed you too!' She smiled. 'You've changed.'

'Not that much.' I rolled my eyes. 'I might be a bit older, but I'm still just as gorgeous.'

'I was talking about your personality, you vain bitch.' She laughed as I helped her get her stuff inside. 'You're a lot less.... Bitchy. Or is it something else? There's definitely something.'

'Oh, thanks!' I said sarcastically.

'So, where's this fiance of yours?' She asked. 'Can't wait to meet him.'

'He's at his house, his own family is coming too.' I told her. Emily knew the situation and why me and Nick were getting married.

'Can I see your dress??' She asked. 'Please?? I can't wait to see it!!'

'Okay, okay!' I laughed. 'C'mon then!'
I lead Emily upstairs and took my wedding dress off the hanger that was on my wardrobe door.

'Oh, wow.' She looked awestruck. 'It's gorgeous! Try it on!! Please!'

I sighed and went to the bathroom to put my dress on.
I re-entered the bedroom and Emily squealed. 'Oh my fucking god!! You look amazing!!'

'Thanks.' I said anxiously. 'Are you sure?'

'Oh, I'm certain!' She nodded. 'It shows off your ass and boobs perfectly.'

I stood in front of the full length mirror. 'You know what? I'm wearing this dress, but it just doesn't feel like it's real. Like it's just a twisted dream and I'm gonna wake up at any second. Sometimes I wonder why I'm even doing this. Why I'm marrying my boss! I mean, look at me! Why would he even think of marrying me? There's nothing special about me at all.'

Emily stood next to me in front of the mirror. 'You know what I see? A strong, independent and gorgeous woman, who's been through a lot, but still didn't let life kick her while she was down. You need to stop doubting yourself. You're beautiful, smart, you care about those close to you... Nick is right to marry you.'

She saw the doubt still in my face and sighed. 'Katherine, do you love Nick?'

I frowned. 'Yes, I do. More than anything.'

'And it's obvious that he loves you, otherwise he'd have never agreed to this!' She said.

'He agreed because he wanted his dad to get a business deal with our dad.' I shrugged.

She rolled her eyes. 'Katherine, you are so stubborn! That hasn't changed, has it? Do you really believe that Nick is only marrying you so his dad gets a business deal with dad?'

I sighed. She was right. Nick was a moral man. He wouldn't just marry me for his dad's benefit, without asking if I wanted this. He gave me the choice.
'No, Emily, I don't believe that.'

'Good. You're marrying each other because you love each other. End of story. Now, get out of that dress, and we'll do a bit of shopping. Quality sister time.'

I agreed and went to the bathroom to get changed.
