Katherine's POV

I don't know how long I was unconscious for, but when I woke up, I was obviously in the basement.

I tried to stand up, but when I did, pain shot up my right leg and I lowered myself back down cautiously. I slowly looked at it.

There was a large gash in my ankle, and there was still blood dripping from it. Probably to stop me from going anywhere.

I want to die I screamed in my head. I wasn't sure how much I could take, even though I had a nasty feeling that things were about to get much worse.

Suddenly, I heard bolts being unlocked as she stepped in. She had changed her clothes into a beautiful red dress, her blonde hair was styled elegantly over her shoulders and she looked oddly triumphant.

'It's an Elie Saab you know.' She said flippantly. She sighed at the blank look on my face. 'The dress, you dumb bitch.'

I ignored her.

'Shut you up, have I?' She said, realising I wasn't going to talk. 'Nice try by the way, with the pocket knife. But not good enough. Very stupid move of you, I must say. I've used it on your ankle, in case you haven't noticed. That should teach you to do it again, shouldn't it?'

She must have sensed my discomfort, as strode towards me in her ridiculously high heels, full of confidence and arrogance. But I could see the underlying madness in her eyes.

'Mary didn't mess around, did she?' She chuckled, tracing the scar from my neck to my shoulder with her finger. The scar I'd got in the explosion; that was an injury that had almost killed me. 'I honestly don't know what Nick sees in you. Oh, wait, nothing.' She studied my expression, as my blood boiled in anger. 'Struck a nerve, have I?'

'Don't talk about him again.' I snapped, unable to help myself.

'Oh don't worry, I won't have to. Not to you anyway... once you're dead.' And she giggled like a complete and utter psychopath.

'Why the fuck are you doing this, you evil bitch?' I glared at her.

'Watch your tone, Katherine.' She warned quietly, going over to a cupboard and bringing out my pocket knife, covered in dried blood.

She walked over to me. 'I'm going to make sure you remember this moment for the rest of what you have left of your life.'
