A/N

Hey guys. Please listen to the song above. It's Harsh Lights by Nate Ruess and I think the chilled mood of it fits this chapter. Not really some of the lyrics. Maybe the part about going out and staying out, but that's about it. Anyway, without further ado, here's the next chapter. :)

'Sorted!' Katherine left the flower boutique shop and we walked to the car.

'You did order cream roses, right?' I asked.

'Yep.' She nodded. 'They're to be delivered the day before the wedding. I told them if they weren't, then I could shut their fancy little business down, because I'm Katherine Calvin.'

'Are you ever nice to people?' I rolled my eyes. 'At least you're taking this wedding seriously.'

'I can be nice to people!' She said indignantly.

'Oh yeah?' I said, humouring her. 'Like who?'

'You. Eve... KT. Erm, my dad and my sister.' She started.

'Okay, I get the general idea!' I laughed. 'I was only teasing.'

'Not funny.' She pouted.

'Say, it's only six. What do you say to going to see a movie? I think their showing Iron Man tonight.' I suggested.

'I don't know, I'm not really dressed up.' She gestured to her casual shorts and tank top.

'Who cares? I think you look beautiful.' I said. 'Gorgeous pair of legs you have there.' I winked.

'Alright, stop flirting with me!' She looked amused. 'C'mon then. Let's go watch Iron Man.'

Katherine's POV

The movie was pretty boring if I was honest. I'd seen it a thousand times, so I didn't really watch it. I don't think Nick was either.
For some reason, throughout the whole film, there was a really tense atmosphere between us. There was a moment when we both reached into the popcorn bucket at the same time, and our hands brushed together. I tried to ignore the tingly feeling and butterflies in my stomach when this happened.

I was glad when the movie was over and we were outside with the cool breeze and the dark. Nick had texted Will before the movie about where we were.

'You wanna go for pizza?' Nick suggested. 'It's nearly eight, so...'

'Sure.' I felt that me and Nick needed to talk. About us.

So we walked to the Italian restaurant and ordered a pizza between us.

As we sat down, Nick turned to me. 'Today was good, wasn't it?'

'Yeah.' I replied. 'Listen Nick, we need to talk.'

'About what?' He seemed genuinely puzzled.

'Us.' I avoided eye contact. 'Because I'm confused.'

'What do you mean, we're friends. We've always been friends.' He said.

'Yes, but... We're due to get married in less than two months.' I reminded him. 'As friends. I mean, we practically work together too! Maybe we should just call off the whole wedding-'

'Katherine, stop.' He interrupted. 'Where the fuck is this coming from?'

'Well, friends don't marry each other!' I pointed out. 'I'm worried that it might ruin our whole friendship! And I don't even think I'm ready for any kind of relationship! This isn't right!'

'Katherine, calm down. Nobody said that you should rush into things.' He looked me in the eyes. 'You're scared and nervous, I get it. I'm exactly the same. I mean, it's pissed off Will who isn't speaking to me anymore. But I'm still here, aren't I? And no, not because I care about my dad's business deal. It's because I care about you. I love you.'

I stared at him. Whatever I was expecting, it wasn't this.

'I love you too.' I blurted. 'But I don't want to rush into things-'

'Don't worry, nobodys saying we should rush things.' He took my hand gently. 'We'll take things slow, okay? We'll do it our way.'
