True Love - Jadesy (Editing)

Here comes baby

*1 and a bit months later*

I looked down at my tummy as a got a sharp pain rushing through it. I started to panic a bit and stood up to go to the toilet to check if I was bleeding. I doubled over a bit in pain and whimpered, “Jade.”

She came through from the kitchen and rushed over to me. I could hear the panic in her voice, “What babe? What’s wrong?” She wrapped her arms around me.

"I need to go to the toilet and check if I’m bleeding."

"Oh-okay," I could hear her getting more panicked and she started to help me towards the bathroom. On the way there I stopped, getting another sharp pain.

"Jadey," I whimpered again and she rubbed my back.

"It’s okay baby, it’s okay," She pressed tiny kisses to my temple. I looked down as I felt my pants getting damp and only a few seconds later - my waters broke, spilling into a puddle on the ground. It hurt a lot and it felt like pressure was building up inside me. I stared at the puddle on the floor, feeling slightly relived that it wasn’t a miscarriage but I was still terrified. 

I looked over at Jade and she looked scared but was smiling a bit to herself. She grabbed her car keys, slipping an arm round my waist and grabbed the hospital bag we had packed a few days ago. It was beginning to get really sore and I was crying a bit. Jade hushed me while we went down in the lift and she helped me into the car.

"We’ll be there soon Jess, don’t worry," Jade smiled and kissed me softly before getting in the drivers seat swiftly and driving away. There was a lot of traffic and I could tell Jade was getting agitated, "C’mon guys move! My fiancé is in labour!" 

Once we got to the side street we had to turn down, she floored it since the street was empty. I only had two contractions of the way there but they were so painful. Jade had got us there really quickly. Just as we got there I got another contraction. Jade ran round and opened the door, “Can you walk babe? Or do you need a wheelchair?”

I tried to stand up but fell back into my seat, “Better get a wheelchair,” I whimpered in pain again. She nodded.

"One sec then."

I watched her run inside the hospital and she re-appeared a few moments later with a wheelchair. The contraction had finished but I still felt uncomfortable with all the pressure building up inside me. I giggled a bit at her since she was running so frantically, trying not to trip over the wheelchair that seemed like it couldn’t quite keep up with her.

Once she reached me she helped me into the wheelchair slowly, as if she was scared to hurt me. I had to smile to myself a bit at the thought. Once she had slung the overnight bag on her shoulder, she pushed me up to the hospital and since they knew I had arrived, we were directed straight to a room. A midwife came along with us, introducing herself as Nurse Kay on the way there.

Jade helped me get changed into a hospital gown and then onto the bed. Nurse Kay read over my birth plan before going and getting gas and air and bringing it back for me to depend on like it was keeping me alive. To be fair, the amount of pain I was in - it probably was.

My labour progressed much quicker than what we had expected. I had spent most of it clinging onto Jade and screaming in pain. She tried to calm me by stroking my hair, pressing tiny yet loving kisses all over my face and also singing to me and it had worked for a while. It had worked up until now.

I was fully dilated and it was like I was having one constant contraction. I was sweating a lot and had been given a lot of gas and air. Eventually the Nurse Kay came back in, “Ready to have a baby?” She beamed at us and I just nodded, wiping the sweat from my forehead. Jade stood up and gripped my hand tighter. She put one arm over my head and played with the loose bits of hair that had fallen out my ponytail. She rubbed her thumb over my hand. Nurse Kay gave me another examination before looking up, “I want you to push for me.”
