You watched the young man sit down on the grass, a cup of his famous moonshine in hand. You didn't like seeing him like this, brow furrowed and eyes narrowed. He was brooding, blocking the people around him, out.
"Monty?" You got no response, his focused gaze avoiding you.
"What are you thinking about?" Finally his gaze flickered, slowly moving to your face. You knew that look, that face of fear that you never wanted to see. His large brown eyes swelling, wide and worried.
"I'm scared."
"Oh, Mont." You sat down, leaning against him and winding your fingers with his.
"This new 'death wave' could come at any moment, and I don't want anyone else to die. I can't loose anyone else, not Raven, not Jasper." He halted at this, sucking in a breath and flicking his gaze to match yours. "I can't loose you Y/N."
You sat there in shock for a moment, not expecting him to be so open with you. But then you blinked, shaking your self gently and moving closer to him.
"You will never loose me, I'll make sure of that." You gently held his face in your hand, your other hand moving to his shoulder as you pressed your lips to his. His eye lids fluttered closed as his body relaxed slightly, holding your waist with his oil stained hands.
He pulled away with a small shaky breath, and you felt his hand tighten slightly on his waist. He looked down, and pushed his hand to rest on yours.
"I'm still not sure Y/N. Everything seems to safe at the moment, you could be dead any second." You stopped him at that moment, cutting him off with a sharp "No."
"No, you can't think that Monty Green. You need to have a little bit of hope- because hope solves everything."
He smiled a small smile, pressing a small kiss to your hand and shaking his head slightly.
"Okay, okay. I'll give you a bit of hope." With that you smiled at him, moving forward and kissing him again.
You finally had the young man not fearing the world so much, instead- making him hope for the future.
