"hey, baby!" the whole group of teenagers greeted baby who approached the lunch table. he faintly smiled at everyone. baby sat down next to bella, opposite kaelin and a girl baby had sat next to in physics.

baby placed his tray of food in front of him and his backpack in his lap. the food was still warm and baby decided it'd be good to eat it now. he started snacking on his lunch and watched everybody at the table. they were all comunicating very lively.

the two benches at the table were packed. and there were more girls this time. bella, the physics girl besides kaelin, a girl next to mike and one next to jeremy, too. baby guessed they were his friends' girlfriends, all except for kaelin. 

baby didn't know if kaelin was with the physics girl or they were dating. but he might have heard something about a girl a week ago. trisha? tracey? trilony?

it was the moment baby realised everyone had their girls or whatever they were, at the table. except for him. he was the ninth wheel. but then baby also realised that he had gotten used to that, it happened quite often. only now baby was feeling insecure about it for some reason.

some reason? the reason was jessie's girl.

she probably didn't even worry about it. and neither needed baby. 

"guys, guys." kaelin shushed down his friends' conversations and brought the attention to himself. "so, this is trisha." he said, gesturing to the physics girl. baby grinned. his first guess of her name was correct. "and we're dating."

baby smiled wide at his friends and patted him on his shoulder. everyone else cheered and kaelin pressed a kiss to smiling trisha's forehead. they looked fitting together. 

everyone's cheering was disrupted by baby's phone ringing. he unlocked his phone and answered the call while everyone resumed talking. 

"we need you, baby." doc spoke into the phone. "be there in thirty minutes." 

baby ended the call and packed up his food for later. he stood up from the table. "i have to go, work called." he said. 

"work? in the middle of the day?" bella asked. baby shrugged, showing it wasn't really bothering him. "have fun then." she said.

baby waved his hand at everyone and clapped kaelin's shoulder again. "i'm happy for you guys." he said to him quietly. kaelin smiled widely. 

"take care, baby."
