a/n: i tried to find a sleepy picture of ansel/baby but i clearly failed haha enjoy anyways

"baby, wake up." the faint sound of bella's voice echoed somewhere in baby's consciousness. was he dreaming? where was he? what time is it? "c'mon." bella's voice spoke again.

baby slowly felt his body waking up and his eyelids opening. he blinked a few times until his light brown orbs adjusted to the lighting in the room. the room's ceiling and walls were white. where did he end up staying last night?

oh. bella's house.

baby sat up suddenly and looked to his left. no one was there. he then looked at his right, and there was bella. she was sitting next to him on the bed with a smile on her face.

bella was wearing a black t-shirt that seemed shorter than usual and sweatpants in a grey color. her hair was messy, completely unattended, wavy, flowing around her face and down her shoulders. bella looked beautiful. there was no make-up on her face, she was all natural. she probably woke up not so long ago, too.

"hey, baby." bella greeted. "mom made breakfast for us." baby nodded.

"hi." he said. bella chuckled tiredly.

"what are you staring at me for?" she asked. baby shook his head. "i get it, you're not awake yet." bella stood up from the bed and walked to the clear glass door. it was open and she walked out, on the balcony.

baby watched as bella sat down in a wooden chair with pillows in it. in front of the chair was a table with trays on it. some of them had steam going up in the air. baby guessed that was the breakfast bella mentioned.

he stood up slowly and walked out on the balcony, too. baby sat down in an identical chair to bella's and looked out in the distance. the sun was up, shining through the white clouds. birds were chirping and the air was warm.

baby looked down at the table in front of him and bella. it was small, but filled with trays and plates of food. there were pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs and toast. there were also two mugs of tea, the water in them was now green. jars of jam, sugar and salt.

"how are you feeling?" baby asked bella, reaching for one of the tea mugs. bella looked at him funny while taking her own tea and then shrugged.

"my head hurts a little. i took a shower, so that made me feel better." she replied. "i can't remember much from last night. for example - why were you sleeping next to me on my bed?"

"it was your idea." baby explained, raising his eyebrows. "we're not telling jessie." bella chuckled at that. "do you remember getting kfc at midnight?"

bella nodded. "yeah, i do." she said. "and i..." she sighed."i also remember telling you about my dad." bella looked down at her feet. she had folded her legs and wrapped an arm around them. her tea mug was standing on one of her knees, with her free hand holding it. "i hoped it was a dream i had. but then it felt too real for me to dream it."

baby watched bella as she raised her head up again and faced him. "you won't tell anyone, right?" she asked.

"i don't have anyone to tell, really." baby admitted.

"you do. i mean our friends, your friends, your family." bella explained. baby's eyes flashed with pain. mom. he cleared his mind immediately.

"you can't keep that a secret forever." baby said.

"i can't tell anyone!" bella argued. "you don't know my dad, he's... not an ordinary man." yeah, well, so am i. "he's dangerous, and the people he works with are, too."

"what's his job?" baby asked. bella sighed shortly.

"he's a criminal." she said. "that much my mother has told me and i know myself. he's got pretty much every crime you could imagine on his hands." baby nodded. "you can't tell anyone about that, either."

"i know." baby said. "i won't." he took one of the two plates on the table and put two pancakes on it, adding the red-colored jam. "your mom doesn't know, right?" bella nodded. "why won't you tell her? she's your mother, bella."

bella sighed. "he's... done things to her, too. i don't want to tell her, because... even the thought of him upsets her. i don't want to cause her more troubles and worries."

"but if you tell her, you both could do something about it." baby argued.

"i know, baby, but..." bella trailed off. "it's too complicated to explain." she said finally, putting eggs and bacon on her plate. as she ate her breakfast, her eyes were looking in the far distance.

"you can rely on me, bella." baby said, unlocking his phone and clicking on the contacts' little square. he pressed the small + in the corner of the screen to add a new contact and handed bella his phone. "type in your number, i can give you mine. and whenever you need, i'll be here. okay?"

bella took his phone with a doubtful look on her face, but nodded and typed in her number, first name and last name. she also took a quick photo of her smiling to put as her contact photo. bella gave baby back his phone, and then pulled hers out of her sweatpants. baby looked down at the new contact made.

bella albinson *insert owl emoji*

"an owl?" baby asked.

"yeah." bella said. "i like owls." she admitted.

she gave baby her own phone so he would type his name and number in. he did that quickly, naming himself baby and adding the emoji with sunglasses. baby gave bella her phone back.

she laughed. "well, aren't you mr. cool guy?" bella asked. baby grinned.
