"good morning, kids." a female voice spoke from behind bella and baby. he turned around to see a woman in her late thirties standing by the glass door. she was wearing a blouse and dress pants. baby stood up. this is probably bella's mom.

"good morning, ma'am." baby said to her. bella's mom allowed him to shake her hand.

"i'm alice for any friends of bella's." she said with a sweet smile. she had wavy, blond hair that was a bit shorter than bella's. "and your name is...?"

"baby." he replied. alice furrowed her eyebrows. 

"really?" she asked. "how extraordinary." alice stated with a smile.

"you know i only have unique friends." bella chimed in.

"of course, hon." her mother responded and laughed. "oh, bella. could you take mike to the movies today? i've got work and he really wants to go and see some movie about supervillains."

"yeah, sure. just count some money into my account, i'm quite empty." bella scrunched her nose up. her mom nodded.

"of course." she said. "well, enjoy your meal." alice said and left. baby sat back down in his chair, resuming to eat his pancakes. 

"you're such a gentleman." bella said. baby rolled his eyes with a grin. "do you... maybe wanna come with me and my brother to see suicide squad?" she asked.

"i'd like to, but i've got to go home." baby said, which was true. "speaking of which, what time is it?" he asked quietly, more to himself than bella. he looked at his phone.

9:37am. joe would be awake soon, which means baby needed to be on his way as soon as he could. "i have to go soon." he said to bella. she nodded. 

they ate breakfast in silence. there were lots of things baby wanted to say, but he didn't. bella was too tired to speak. she predicted that she'd fall asleep in the cinema. it wouldn't be a loss, she had already seen suicide squad before school started again.

baby changed and took his belongings and he and bella went downstairs. she was still in her pyjamas. baby said to goodbye to bella's mom, alice. she faintly reminded him of his own mom. just very faintly.

baby unlocked his car and got into the driver's seat. he closed the door and bella leaned against it. she smiled at him as baby put his headphones in.

"thanks for last night. and this morning." bella said to him. "you seem so... caring." 

baby smiled at her. "thank you." he said and started his car. 

"i'll see you at school, then." bella said. baby nodded. 

"and bella?" baby said loudly just as bella started to walk back to her house. she turned around. "remember our deal." he reminded her and drove away. 

bella nodded slowly, smiling to herself. what a guy, she thought and walked back in her house.
