"i will try to get back by morning." baby said, helping his dad get into bed.

"you can have fun, i always wake up late on saturdays." joe replied with an understanding smile. baby just shook his head.

"good night." baby said to his dad. joe only waved at him and then baby walked out of his room. once he was in the hallway, he looked at his phone to check the time.

8:21pm. it had been almost an hour since jessie called baby. the party probably wouldn't end anytime soon, so baby had a lot of time still.

wait, am i really worrying if i have time to party or not? something must totally be wrong. baby took his wallet, car keys, headphones, a jacket and made himself a cup of coffee to stay awake. baby was quite a sleeper and went to sleep early lately. there were no more interesting tv shows he could watch all night.

baby locked the house and made sure he did it at least twice. leaving joe home alone [a/n: i dont wanna go hooome aloone ok bye haha] at night always left baby a bit anxious. that's one of the reasons he didn't go to parties.

the staircase of the apartment building was quite creepy when it was dark outside. most of the lamps were broken and hanging off the ceiling, so there was no lighting and baby had to use his phone's flashlight to see where he was going. but the elevator was even more creepy, so baby decided to take the stairs.

he survived going down the creepy stairs and was approaching the parking lot for the building's residents' vehicles. with the money he allowed himself to use, baby had bought a vintage car. as the car seller described it 'yo, man, this one's so cool and it's like hippy paradise, you know, all that 70s vibes'. he was probably on some pills.

but it was nice, in a pastel yellow colour with white and silver details. it was a truck and it had good quality, despite the funny price. it was three hundred bucks. but baby suspected the guy who sold him the truck didn't even know if the price was right for a car. miles wouldn't argue, it was one of the best prices he'd come across.

baby unlocked his car and hopped into the driver seat and put his coffee in the holder. his headphones were in his ears and as he started to drive, there was music blasting through them. baby read the party house's address and worked out the way there in his mind pretty quickly.

when baby arrived at the house, he heard loud music through his headphones. he was pretty sure it was coming from the big house people were swarming around. baby drank his coffee cup empty and sighed.

here goes the first, and hopefully the last, party of senior year.
