WHEN I WOKE UP I expected to be in a damp cell where it was cold and smelled of sewage. But as I slowly come to my senses I am engulfed in warmth and I feel softness under my touch. I lay there relishing this forgotten feeling of security. I almost forget that I am held captive when I hear a faint clomping of marching and I bolt straight up taking in my surroundings. I am held in a small room that is all black. There is a metal door and on the opposite side there is a huge window that takes up the whole wall. The only other objects in the room is a simple desk, closet, and a small bed that I was laying on. I jump off the bed and head to the window. I stand there staring off into space memorized by the twinkling lights. I had always enjoyed looking up at the beautiful sunny sky when I was in the Resistance but the beauty of the dark space in front of me was nothing compared. I kept staring out the window wondering what new things this ominous horizon could hold.
My trance is finally broken when a TIE fighter crosses in front of my window and I am brought back to reality. I look over my new cell to see if I missed anything that could possibly help me escape. My eyes skip over another door that I hadn't seen before and I walk over to it to see what is inside. I am shocked to see a bathroom when I open the door. I shower sounded so good to me right now and I decided that I would take advantage of what I have right now just in case if the First Order decides to put me back into that grubby cell.
I lock the bath room door and strip my dirty clothes off and hop into the steaming shower. I wince a little at the heat but then I slowly get used to it. As I stand letting the water run off my body I puzzle over why the First Order had a change in heart and put me in a more comfier holding area. The last thing I remember before waking up here is yelling at Kylo Ren and him choking me half to death. I don't know how I deserved this type of treatment or better yet why I am receiving this treatment.
Once the dirt is all washed off my skin I step out of the shower and I am hit with the chill off the air so I quickly rap my self in a fluffy towel. I swipe my hand over the mirror to clear the fog that built up on it. I am socked at what I see looking back at me. The girl in my reflection is more skinnier then I remember and has a burn mark that starts at the end of her eye brow and raps down under her eye. I touch the burn remembering the machine that inflicted it and I whimper a little as the burn still hasn't healed yet. The next thing I notice is the bruises around my neck which I assumed was caused by the invisible choke hold Kylo held on me. I turn away from the mirror terrified by the cruelty of the First Order and look for my clothes.
I hold up my old dirty clothes looking at them and dreading putting them back on. So I decide to take a quick glimpse in the room to make sure if there were any other clothes. I slow crack the door open and poke my head out. No one is in the room so I run over to the closet and open the door. The only thing in the closet is a rack that holds one outfit. I grab the clothes fast and run back to the bathroom so I can change without being barged in on.
After I slip the clothes on I step in my room and observe my self in the floor length mirror. I am wearing tight pants with straps and pockets to hold blasters, I have a tight fitting long sleeve that is covered by a vest. To top it off I have these leather gloves that allow the tip of my fingers to show, a belt, and then some boots. I am not surprised when I see that ever article of clothing I have on is black but I will admit I do look good in black because it contrast my light hair. I look at my hair and realize I forgot to comb it so I walk to the bathroom and look in the drawers and find a brush. I quickly brush my hair and step back out into the room. As I step out I put my hair into a low messy bun and i make my way to the window once again. Once I finish with my hair I rest my hands on the glass and then press my forehead against it signing as I wonder what my friends are doing. That is when I hear something shift in the room and I snap around and thrust my hand out towards what ever made the movement.
I feel and opposite Force push against mine until I am force to let go of my hold as I try to see who was in the dark shadows of my room. I already knew who it was because there was only one other person on this ship that had the Force.
I hear a chuckling voice come from the corner of my room and the a grainy voice says, "You are so weak in the Force but yet you have so much potential if only you would let me train you." I see movement as a dark figure strides out into the light that the bright stars from the window project.
" Oh great it's you again." I say crossing my arms and letting out a huff of disappointment but yet somewhere deep inside me I feel happy that he is here. I shove that feeling down as I silently scold myself for thinking that way.
I hear the chuckling once again and the man steps closer to me. I take an uneasy step back as my body touches the cold glass of the window. "I feel that you are confused on everything that is happening and that you feel as if you don't belong anywhere. I can help you control those emotions and I know that you will find your rightful place beside me. If only you would join me." His scratchy voice makes me shudder and I turn my head away from him. True I did feel everything he said and i did feel tempted to take his offer but when I looked at him once again his features reminded me that he was a hooded monster. And that there was no man behind the mask just an empty souled creature.
I know that he read my mind because I hear a clicking noise as the creature raises his hands towards his helmet. He pulls off his helmets and then shakes his black hair out of his face. I had seen his face before when I first met him but each time I saw it I discovered more intriguing features about him. I hold my breath as I feel his gaze rake over me. I then see a smile tug at the corner of his mouth. He then inches closer to me as my eyes don't move from his lips.
I don't know what the sudden change in attitude towards him comes from but I can't seem to look away as he stands close enough to touch. I feel his warm breath hit my skin as both of us make eye contact. Neither of us daring to break the trance. Kylo finally says, "Training will start at 6 am sharp tomorrow. No earlier and no later. I expect to see you there." His human voice is deep and sounds like smooth honey. He lingers for a second more this turns away as he puts his mask back on and walks to the door. As he is about to open it I ask him, "And how do you expect me to train with someone who doesn't even know my name?"
He briefly turns around and ask, "So then what is your name?" I cringe a little at his raspy voice wanting to hear his real voice again.
I stare at him and say, "Roe, my name is Roe." I feel as if part of the wall I had built up to block me from him had been broken down once I told him this.
I hear him say, "Roe." Slowly as if he is testing the word out but all i hear is the masked voice saying with no emotion. He turns around without warning and walks out the door.
When I see him leave I feel my heart ache wanting to hear him say my name in the voice that I know will haunt my dreams as I wait to hear it once more.
So training starts! Will Roe really join the dark side or will she refuse to join?Is Kylo's feelings towards Roe changing?
