Instead of going out and doing anything productive for the rest of the day, we ended up hanging around at the headquarters house, otherwise known as Celina and Crenia's former home. Nobody was really in much of a mood to do anything, so most of us just camped out in the living room. A few stories were told, but I noticed that Celina never told any. My guess was that it was because she didn't want to say something about how she grew up with Crenia, who was now a Trelosa soldier. I shot her a few glances, but never were they returned.
Before any of us knew it, the time was midnight. I took a seat on the floor after getting a quick drink from the sink. "What now?" I asked. "Does anybody have any ideas?"
"It's late," Melody said. "Perhaps we all should go to sleep. My guess is that tomorrow isn't going to be a peaceful day, so we should make the most of this peace and quiet and crash for the night."
I nodded. "Okay," I agreed. "Maybe we should all split up. There are around four rooms that we could sleep in, so maybe we could split up in groups of three and camp out in there that way."
"Alright," Arianna smiled. "I have an idea on the grouping, if that's okay with the rest of you guys."
"Go on and tell us," Viveca encouraged.
"Celina, Renee, and I could go into one of the upstairs rooms. Viveca, Corinne, and Melody could head to another one. Selix, Grace, and Kidani could be together as well. As for the last group, I was thinking Trina, Braylee, and Tory," Arianna said. "Are there any objections to that?"
Nobody said anything. I heard Braylee sigh, but I figured that was just because she had to interact with people at all. Braylee didn't seem like the type to necessarily enjoy human contact, so chances were that we'd hear her groaning and moaning unhappily about being around us.
"Alright," smiled Arianna. "I'm heading off to sleep. I'll see you in the morning. Is there any specific time that we should be up?"
"Does it matter? I don't think that there's even a clock in here," Grace said with a small shrug. "I guess that we'll just see whenever everybody wakes up."
"Yeah. That sounds good to me," nodded Viveca. "I'm going to sleep too."
A chorus of wishes to sleep well followed. Everybody walked up to their rooms on the upper floor. When Arianna, Celina, and I arrived at our room, Celina went in first. My guess was that she was going to clean up all the evidence that she had been in there with Crenia for large amounts of time as a child.
"It's clean in here," Celina said, poking her head out of the door. "I had to get rid of a layer of dust with my magic, but everything is fine now."
I took a seat on the bed. "If we slept sideways, I bet that all of us could fit," I told Celina and Arianna. "I'll take the edge away from the wall."
"I got the middle," said Celina. She flopped down onto the bed after taking off her shoes and setting them down on the floor at the foot of the bed's frame.
"It's pretty dark in here," Arianna whispered. She took her seat on the edge of the bed near the wall and pulled the blankets back. Not long after, she curled up underneath the covers and shivered. "It's a bit cold, too. I guess that's to be expected, though, since nobody's been here in years."
"I guess so," Celina said with a small shrug. She helped in pulling back the blankets and took her place underneath them as well.
I walked for the pillows that sat at the top of the bed. I distributed them evenly among Celina, Arianna and myself. There was one left over since there were four pillows. I set it down on the floor before taking my own place on the edge of the bed.
Before I even had the chance to wish the others a goodnight, I was out like a light. I had been much more tired than I realized. I drifted off into a gentle slumber not long after, not knowing what was happening around me...
~
When I woke up, I expected to see some sort of light. Instead, it was still as dark as ever. I left my eyes closed after realizing that it was still dark outside. I was planning to go back to sleep, as I was going to take advantage of this time to rest the best I could.
I felt somebody touch my face. I was facing away from Celina and Arianna, so it couldn't have been either one of them. I opened one eye and saw somebody standing there. I couldn't tell who it was since I was staring right at the person's stomach.
"I'm sorry," came a whisper from the person. They leaned over and planted a small kiss on my forehead. I did my best not to scream and fight them off right then and there. I didn't like anybody touching me in any intimate way, and that included kissing, without my permission.
"Sleep well, sister," the person said next. I heard them walk away. The door shut not long after. I sat up and walked for the door. I slowly opened it up and looked out, hoping that I would see who it was.
It was a boy tearing a hole in the air. I couldn't tell who it was at first, but I knew instantly who it was when he turned around to face me. Only his head was shown, as he was clearly in a hurry and was just briefly looking over his shoulder, but that was all I needed.
The person that had spoken to me was one that I knew all too well.
The person that had spoken to me was none other than Finley.
