The room that Arianna dragged us off to was rather nice. It was small, but it had a homey feel to it that I enjoyed. It made me feel like I was at home, even if I wasn't really at home. There was a small table next to a mahogany couch. A lamp sat atop the table. It was small, but it still gave off quite a bit of yellow light. Another chair sat near the couch.
Arianna walked towards the chair near the couch. She took a seat on top of it and gestured for us to sit on the couch nearby. "Please. Have a seat," she told us with a pleasant voice that overflowed with elegance. She was definitely the sophisticated type. It sort of enforced that stereotype that English people were all prim and proper, but I didn't mind. At least she wasn't snooty, which went against the stereotypes I had heard.
Celina and I took our seats and stared up into Arianna's bright green eyes. "So... You know about magic and such?" I asked.
Arianna nodded. "Of course I do. My mother told me about it back when I was little. She was the Pure mage that came before me in our family. She's teaching me about how to master our power these days."
Arianna pointed to a potted plant that sat next to the door. I hadn't even realized that it was there. Arianna closed her eyes. Green light pulsed around her right hand, the one that she had raised. The light perked up and then grew a few pink flowers. The flowers unfolded and when they did, pink dust came sprinkling down from the petals. The pink dust settled into the soil the plant was located in. From the dust a few small yellow bottles appeared. Arianna opened her eyes and pulled her hand down. She walked over to the plant and picked up the yellow bottles that had been left behind. "These are healing drinks. They replenish all health that may have been lost in a battle."
Arianna held out one of the bottles to me. I accepted it gently and flipped the bottle over a few times. "This smells like flowers," I whispered. I guess that made sense. The bottle was created from dust that was created from flowers. I sniffed the bottle a few more times. The pleasant sensation hit my nose in the blink of an eye, making me smile. It seemed to have the effect of making all who sniffed it happy.
"I've been practicing for quite some time. I trust that you guys have been doing the same. My mother has informed me of the oncoming threat posed by Hakate and the Trelosa soldiers that she has employed. I'm going to be working with you all quite a bit in the next few months to stop them. We'll need to be at full power if we want to put an end to Hakate's reign of terror," Arianna said, setting down the yellow bottle in the fingers of her right hand onto the table.
"I've been training for years so I'm rather experienced, but I'm afraid that the same cannot be said about Renee. She's only been informed of magic for a few hours and she's had her magic for a very brief period of time as well. The magic hasn't yet settled in, so we have to wait to see what she can do," Celina said.
"That conversation aside, we should probably go back to Australia soon and pick up Corinne. I bet that she's finished up her changing by now," I told the pair of girls.
"I wonder what sort of character this Corinne person is," Arianna said, tapping her finger on her chin. "Can you tell me what you know about her?"
"She's the Pure mage of fire. Her powers are rather impressive as far as I can tell. She comes from Australia," Celina explained. "In fact, we might as well go back there now and visit her once more. As Renee said, she's likely changed into her normal outfit by now, which means that we don't have much reason to stick around here."
Celina pulled out her dagger and let it shine in the light of the lamp. She sliced through the air, which caused the a rift to open. She walked through the rift. I followed after her. Arianna was a few feet behind me, humming gently as she exited England and entered the warm air of Australia.
Corinne was sitting on the front porch of her home when we arrived. She was playing on her phone, her blonde hair falling over her face. Her hair was puffy now that it wasn't wet. The curl her hair had made her hair look much more full than it was. Corinne wore a red shirt with no sleeves, but instead a wrap that went around her neck. She had orange shorts on her legs along with white socks that reached the middle of her calves and black tennis shoes with white laces. "Are we ready for this?" she asked.
"Not yet. We shouldn't go find somebody else yet. We might want to spend the night somewhere so that we can start off bright and early tomorrow. It's getting rather late," Celina said.
Arianna nodded. "We can go back to my hotel and then ask my mother if she could put us up in one of the open rooms," she told us. "I'm sure that she'd be okay with it. She wants the world saved just as much as the rest of us do, after all."
Celina nodded as well and opened up a rift that took them back to the hotel owned by Arianna and her mother. We all walked through and ended up in the room where we had first begun to speak with Arianna. The red headed girl darted out of the room to talk to her mother, so the three of us that were left all took seats around the room.
Man, it had only been a day but I was already loving this...
