After I asked her what was next, the first thing Celina did was reach for a notepad. There was one on a nearby desk. Even if this house had been abandoned for ages, there was still a dusty notepad sitting around. Celina used this to her advantage and flipped it open before beginning to write.
"There are twelve normal mages and three special ones. All of us are normal mages. The three special mages are, as their name implies, special. There are twelve zodiac signs that we normal mages fall into. This dictates our power levels. Four signs have the highest amount of power, four have average, and four have relatively low power levels. However, even a low power Pure magic user can make their magic quite powerful if they put their mind to it," explained Celina.
"Well, thanks for the explanation, but what's the notebook for?" Corinne asked, hands on her hips.
Celina was still writing furiously when she spoke. "I'm writing down everybody that we've found. I got all the names of our Pure mages from my parents, as they know the rest of the mages' families. With a list of who we've gotten, then we can much more easily find the people that we don't have," she explained.
"I see. That makes sense," nodded Viveca. "Who do we still need to find?"
Celina continued writing as she replied. "Well, we have Renee, the Pure mage of Legends, Arianna, the Pure mage of Nature, Viveca, the Pure mage of Water, and Corinne, the Pure mage of Fire. That means that we have all of the highest level mages. We don't have the Pure mage of Sands yet, nor do we have the Pure mages of Technology or Senses. That means that the average and low power level mages are incomplete quartets," she said.
"Then where can we find those three?" Corinne questioned.
Celina shook her head. "I'm not done yet. We have Grace and Selix from the low power group. We have Kidani, Trina, and myself from the average. That means that we're missing two from the low power group, otherwise known as the Pure mages of Technology and Sands. The average person we're missing is the Pure mage of Senses," she explained. "They're in the countries of Saudi Arabia, Germany, and India."
"What about the three special mages? Can you tell us anything about them?" Selix questioned.
"I actually happen to know quite a bit about them. One is in China, one in Greece, and the final in France. The mage in China has the power of Transformation. The Greek Pure mage has the magic of Air. The French mage is of the Earth power," Celina said.
"Wait... China?" I asked in shock. "There's somebody in China?"
Celina nodded. "Yes. I was planning on picking her up when I got you, but I decided not to. I figured that getting the normal mages all together was much more important to handle first," she said.
"It still wouldn't have hurt to pick them up," Corinne pointed out.
"I know. But it would have been hard to find them. I don't have an exact location for this mage. It's harder to track down the special mages. My family doesn't have the best connections with their families. On top of that, it's hard to sense them without having a large number of mages in one area. With more magic users together, it grows easier to find them," Celina explained.
"Wow. You sure do know a lot about this stuff," Grace commented. "You lost me a long time ago. I never knew anything besides the fact that I can manipulate people's heads if I want."
"My parents knew that I would grow up to have power like I do. They informed me of everything that they know about so that I would be prepared for when I came of age to fight off any sort of enemy," Celina told Grace. "That makes me something like a tour guide for the rest of you as we go through the world of magic."
"That's really impressive, you know," I said with a small smile. "You know so much about magic. It's awesome. I can't do anything with my magic as of now. It kind of sucks. I feel really bad that I can't do anything to help, but... I guess that you knowing so much sort of makes up for it all."
"I wish that you knew something more about this situation. I'm left to wonder why you were kept in the dark when it came to magic," Celina whispered, shaking her head. "However, that can wait. For the time being, we need to find the three regular mages that we haven't yet run into."
"There are nine of us, so it would be logical for us all to go into groups of three, wouldn't you agree?" asked Selix.
Celina nodded. "Yeah. I'll go with Renee and Arianna. Viveca, Grace, and Kidani go together. Our final group will be Selix, Corinne, and Trina," she said. "I'll take my group to India to meet the Sands Pure mage. Kidani's group will go to Saudi Arabia for the Senses mage. Finally, Selix's group will travel to Germany for the mage of Technology."
"Alright. I think that we're ready," I smiled. "Go on and cut us a rift to go through, Cel."
"Cel?" Celina asked.
"I-I just thought that you'd like the nickname. Sorry," I apologized quickly. I could tell that she didn't really like it.
Celina shot me a small smile as she cut three rifts. She walked through one of them. Selix went through one and Kidani through the final rift. I followed Celina through the rift that she had gone through.
Once I was on the other side, Celina whispered into my ear. "My siblings call me Cel. I find it sweet that you call me that too," she told me.
She pulled away when Arianna walked through as well. Celina pointed ahead. "Come on. Let's get going. That mage isn't going to find herself," she told us.
