After we snagged some food, we all met up in the main area of the house that we were using as our headquarters. Celina was the first one to arrive there, her small dagger in hand and ready to cut a rift into the air for us to travel through. "Is everybody ready?" she asked.
I nodded and glanced around. It appeared that everybody was there. "I think so," I said. "So our group placements are based around the power levels that we all have?"
Celina nodded as well. "With everybody of the same power level gathered up, it should be rather easy to sense the location of the special Pure mage that you are trying to find. After we've found them all, then we should find a way to communicate," she said. "I don't want to leave empty rifts just lying around when we might be searching for quite some time."
"Then how are we supposed to contact one another? Did you think things through that far?" asked Braylee, crossing her arms and staring at Celina with interrogative eyes. "I should have seen it coming that you wouldn't."
"Of course I did," smiled Celina. She created a pair of small objects, specifically small spheres. "Since I have the power of weapons, anything that I create is useless in the hands of any others. Plus, if I wish, then they will come back to me. If one of you sends out this sphere, then it will come and find me and alert me that you are ready to be brought back here. After I have received both balls, then I will come and pick up everybody else. Are we clear?"
Everybody in the room nodded, even Braylee, who I would have expected to have some sort of retort or sharp and barbed comment to throw at Celina. Satisfied, the Pure mage twirled her dagger a few times before cutting a hole in the air. "Melody, your group goes first," she said. Celina dropped a small ball into the fingers of the blonde girl. "Keep it in your pocket, preferably in a small box. Do you have one to use?"
Melody shook her head. Celina created a small metal box with help of Tory, which they passed over to Melody. "Thank you," Melody smiled before dropping the ball into its small box. The box was soon tucked away into her pocket before she stepped into the rift. The others of her team followed not long after.
"Renee, your group is up next," said Celina. She turned to me and dropped yet another ball into my fingers. It was much heavier than I anticipated. From what I could tell, it was like a smaller version of a cannonball used in older days. It was made up of pure metal from what I could tell.
Celina whipped up a second box in no time and passed it overs to me. "Be careful not to lose it," she told me. I dropped the ball into the box before setting it in my pocket gently.
"I won't. Promise," I assured her. Celina smiled my way before gesturing to the rift that she had created as I had put the box into my pocket.
"We'll see you soon," Celina said. She waved as I stepped through the rift and left behind the headquarters area...

Viveca, Arianna, Corinne, and I ended up in a rather nice area. From what I could tell, it was a neighborhood not far away from where I lived. When Celina had told me that we would be heading to my home of China, I was a bit excited that we were going back to my natural area.
What I didn't realize, however, was that we were rather close to where I lived, as I stated a moment ago. This meant that my mother, along with the Shadow that I had sent here in my place, could be anywhere. I didn't want them to find me. It would be rather odd if I had to explain everything to my mother since she saw both me and my Shadow together at once.
"Do you live in this area?" Arianna asked a few seconds later, snapping me out of my daydream of potential catastrophes.
"I live near here," I replied. "I have a friend that lives in this area. I come to visit her from time to time. Her name is Elina."
"Where does she live?" asked Viveca. "Maybe she's the one that we're looking for."
"I don't know about that," I admitted. "I'm not entirely sure that we'd end up with her as our Pure mage. After all, the chances that Kidani and Grace knew each other before all of this were rather slim. The chances of two pairs of mages knowing one another are even slimmer. I wouldn't really count on it."
"It doesn't hurt to give it a shot, right?" Corinne questioned. "Judging by my internal senses, I'm saying that the Pure mage is in that direction."
I turned to Corinne and realized that she was pointing down a nearby street. I had an urge instantly to go down that pathway and see what was at the end of it. Celina had mentioned that we were going to be drawn to the mage that we needed to find, but I didn't suspect it to be like this. I could feel my insides practically begging me to go that way.
"I think that's the right way too," I said. I left out the fact that this was the direction that Elina lived in, as I didn't want to go back on my words right after I said them.
Arianna and Viveca followed Corinne and I as we headed down the street. There were quite a few familiar faces here and there, most of them from my school. I waved a few times and said 'hello' in my native language. Viveca, Arianna, and Corinne looked confused at what I was saying, but they didn't question it. I forgot that we were speaking in our own language compared to the rest of the world.
Corinne suddenly stopped walking and gasped. "Something's not right," she whispered. "Something's here."
We all froze and glanced around, waiting to see if something was truly up like Corinne said.
When we finally figured it out, none of us saw it coming.
