Chapter 37: Flower Shop

Brittney's POV

"What? Surely he's your boyfriend. Hindi naman siya mag-rereact ng ganyan kung hindi ka espesyal diba?", natahimik kaming dalawa ni Raven. Yung tatlo naman, halatang nagpipigil ng tawa.

"Wait. Are you telling me na you're not a couple?", sabi ulit nung lalaki. Hindi kami umimik. Pwera lang sa tatlo naming kasama.

"Actually po, hindi po 'sila'. 'Magiging' palang po ata", lokong sabi ni Ashlyn. Tumango-tango naman yung lalaki.

"Teka po, diba sabi nyo po. Fiancè? Hopefully? Ilang taon na po ba kayo?", tanong ni Nathan.

"Well, I'm 23. Actually, gusto na ng parents namin na ikasal kami pero sabi ko ako nalang ang didiskarte kung pano ko siya mapapasagot. We live together actually. So I'm really dedicated to make her mine. And I really hope she says 'yes'", sabi nung lalaki.

"Maybe we can help you?", suhestiyon ni Ashlyn.

"Yeah, were really good at surprises. Surprises no one would suspect", sabi ko.

"Any experience?", tanong nung lalaki.

"Well, yes. Actually, we just did that surprise a couple hours ago. Para sa kaibigan naming torpe", patawang sabi ni Ethan.

"And? Anong kinalabasan?", tanong ulit nung lalaki.

"I think it went well. They're spending their first day as a couple today", sagot naman ni Nathan.

"We also did a surprise for another friend of ours 3 years ago. We were only freshmen back then...", sh*t, napatakip nalang ako ng bibig. Napatingin sa'kin si Ashlyn.

"And?", hindi ko alam isasagot ko. Si Ashlyn nakatingin lang sa'kin. Si Ethan naman sa paligid. Si Nathan naman ay napayuko lang. While Raven is leaning on Nathan's car.

"Let's just say, it went well for some time", sabi ko nalang. 'More like it lasted 3 months', sabi ng isip ko. Hay...

"It sounds like you're really good. Pero wala akong idea kung ano'ng magugustuhan niya"

"Just think about the things she likes. Things she loves", sagot ko ulit.

"Good idea, so ganito nalang....."

Raven's POV

***

WTF did I just do?! I feel so stupid! I'm acting weirs. Maling akala lang pala.
I just stared blankly at them while they were busy planning on the stranger's surprise proposal for his fiancé.

"Well? What do you think?", tanong nung lalaki kila Ash.

"OMG....maiihi ako sa kilig kuya! As in! She is really lucky because this plan is beyond romantic!", tili ni Ashlyn habang nagtatatalon sa tuwa. Sila Brittney naman, sinasabayan yung pagiging childish ni Ash. Ashlyn's really happy, like a little kid able to get her favorite toy.

I've seen her as happy as that, before. Before that nerve-racking moment. She jumps with joy everytime Ethan expresses his feelings, either through surprises or verbal. Simpleng salita nga lang, matutuwa na yan. But the following events were devastating. After the incident between Ashlyn and Ethan, it became hard to paint a smile on Ashlyn's face. It became hard to hear her laughter. Para bang, sumasagot ka ng quiz na multiple choice, pero wala sa choices yung sagot. In other words, it was like solving a problem with options but without the effective solution.
