Puck sighed and glanced at his phone as it rang. "Hello?"

"Hey, man. It's Finn." Finn said. "How are you?"

"Good? What's up?" Puck wondered.

"Rachel and I wanted to take Noah out to dinner tonight for his birthday with Chris and Barbra." Finn responded.

"That's today?" Puck asked.

"Uh... yeah." Finn muttered. "We'll pick him up around 6."

"Okay. Bye." Puck said as he hung up the phone and put it away. "Noah!" He yelled.

The sixteen year old hurried downstairs into the kitchen where Puck was. "Morning."

"Finn and Rachel are taking you to dinner at 6." Puck informed his son. "Go get ready for school."

"Yes, Dad." Noah nodded as he walked away.

Puck watched his clone walk away. It was weird because Noah looked so much like Puck, but Puck only saw Quinn in him.

When Noah left for school, Puck got in his truck and headed to the liquor store. He hated May 16th. It was the worst day of the year for him.

Puck headed home with a brand new bottle of Jack Daniels. He sat on the couch and poured himself a glass.

Puck drank until he passed out. It was sort of his May 16th tradition. When he woke up, his son was home from school.

The doorbell rang and Puck yelled at Noah to go get it.

Noah opened the door and hugged Finn, Rachel, Chris, and Barbra before letting them in.

"Hey, Puck." Finn said. "What's up?"

"Not much." Puck replied as he sat up. He picked up the almost empty Jack Daniels bottle. "Want any?"

"We're good." Rachel replied. "Ready to go, Noah?"

Noah nodded. "Bye, Dad."

"Bye." Puck muttered.

Rachel, Noah, and the Hudson kids went out to the car. Finn lingered behind.

"In or out, Finn." Puck growled.

Finn walked in and sat down on the couch. "Why don't you come to dinner with us?"

"Why would I come?" Puck asked.

"Because we're celebrating your son's birthday." Finn stated.

"Celebrating." Puck scoffed. "That kid is nothing to celebrate."

Finn sighed. "I know you miss Quinn. We all do, but it's not Noah's fault that she's gone."

"Then whose fault is it?" Puck demanded. "If it wasn't for that kid, she would still be here."

"Quinn would want you to love your son and take good care of him." Finn pointed out. "Hating him isn't gonna bring her back."

Puck took a deep breath. "Everyone says he looks just like me, but he's her. Everything about him reminds me of her."

"I know nothing is gonna fix your pain of losing Quinn, but Noah is the last piece of her that you have." Finn reminded Puck. "Fix that before it's too late."

"You're right." Puck sighed. "I'll talk to him when you guys get back from dinner."

"You sure you don't wanna come?" Finn offered.

Puck nodded. "Let him enjoy his birthday with you guys. I have something I wanna take care of."

"Text me if you need anything." Finn told Puck.

Puck smiled as he walked his friend out. When Finn was gone, Puck got in his truck and headed to the cemetery. He hadn't gone in years.

Puck parked his truck and walked over to Quinn's grave. He stood in front of it and took a deep breath.

"Things are a mess. I'm a shitty dad without you balancing me out. You would've been an amazing mother. And you would've loved Noah." Puck promised. "I would do anything to get you back. Happy early birthday. I can't believe you're 39 tomorrow. I miss you so much. I love you, Q."

Puck took a deep breath and headed back to his truck. He drove home, thinking about Quinn and Noah the whole way back.

Puck paced around while he waited for his son to return. He was thinking about what to say to fix the last sixteen years, but he knew it wasn't that simple.

Noah walked in and looked at Puck. "Hey, Dad. I, uh, I thought you'd be passed out, I mean asleep, by now."

Puck shook his head. "Can I talk to you?"

Noah furrowed his eyebrow. Puck never asked him questions, he just gave him orders. "Sure."

The two Puckerman men sat down on the couch next to each other.

"I talked to Finn today and he made me realize how bad I've been to you for the past sixteen years." Puck began. "And he's right. You're all I have left of Quinn."

Noah looked at his father.

"I know when you ask about her, I don't really give you any answers, but all that's gonna change. Quinn would hate me if she was still around." Puck continued. "I'm making a lot of changes and I'm fixing this with you. I'm sorry for how shitty I've treated you and I know I don't say it a lot, but I love you, kid."

Noah hugged Puck. "I love you, dad."
