Birthday (Beth/Quick)

A/N: I wanted to write something for Beth's birthday (which is June 8th) because she shares a birthday with me, which proves I AM BETH & my parents are Quinn & Puck

"Happy birthday, B!" Quinn exclaimed as Beth walked into the living room.

"Thanks, Mommy." Beth smiled as she hugged Quinn.

Quinn hugged Beth and kissed her cheek. "Wanna go to the diner for breakfast before your recital?"

"Okay." Beth nodded. "Where's Daddy?"

"Daddy had to go to work." Quinn told Beth.

Beth frowned. "But he said he would come to my recital."

"I know." Quinn nodded.

"Can we call him?" Beth requested.

Quinn dialed Puck's phone number and handed Beth the phone. "Tell him I wanna talk to him after."

Beth nodded and took the phone.

Quinn walked into her room and changed into a pink floral dress. She did her makeup and straightened her hair before returning to the living room.

"Mommy is right here, Daddy." Beth said. "Love you."

"Go get dressed, Beth." Quinn said as she took her phone and put it against her ear. "Hi, Noah."

"Hey, Q." Puck responded.

"I'm taking Beth to breakfast." Quinn informed Puck. "Are you coming to her recital?"

"I'm gonna do my best." Puck responded.

"You can't tell her you're coming and not show up." Quinn said. "She'll be so disappointed."

"I know, I know." Puck said. "I'm gonna try to get there."

"We're always honest with her." Quinn reminded Puck. "I mean, as honest as we can be with a four year old."

"She's a big girl." Puck stated.

"I'm gonna go." Quinn muttered. "We'll talk later."

"Quinn." Puck said.

"Have fun at work." Quinn said as she hung up the phone.

"Thank you for letting me get chocolate chip pancakes, Mommy." Beth smiled.

"It's your day, baby girl." Quinn grinned as she squeezed Beth's hand. "Are you excited for your recital?"

Beth nodded. "Yeah."

"Me, too." Quinn responded. "Uncle Finn is coming, too."

"And Daddy." Beth said.

Quinn nodded as she caught a cab.

Quinn and Beth got in the cab and headed to the dance hall for the recital.

When they got there, Quinn brought Beth to the room she was assigned to.

"Break a leg, Beth." Quinn smiled as she kissed Beth's cheek. "I'll be in the front row."

Beth grinned. "Thanks, Mommy. Love you."

"Love you, too." Quinn responded.

Quinn walked back and took her seat in the audience.

A few minutes later, Finn sat down beside her.

"Hey." Finn smiled. "Where's Puck?"

"Working." Quinn answered.

Finn nodded slowly. "I thought he said he was coming."

Quinn shrugged as the lights dimmed and the first group took the stage.

"Beth's group is last." Quinn whispered to Finn. "Can you record it for Noah?"

Finn nodded and took his phone out as the stage lights turned on and the music started.

Halfway into the first dance routine, Puck walked in and sat next to Quinn.

"Told you I'd make it." Puck muttered.

Quinn smiled and rolled her eyes as she continued watching Beth.

When the routine ended, the lights went on.

"Daddy!" Beth squealed as she ran over to Puck. "You're here!"

Puck picked Beth up and smiled. "I promised I'd be here, didn't I?"

Beth nodded.

"Happy birthday, princess."
