"Finn, there's something I have to tell you." Quinn said as she sat down beside the brunette. "You're not gonna like this, but-"

"Whatever it is, just tell me." Finn requested.

Quinn nodded. "Over the holidays, Rachel took Jesse to Lima with her and they got engaged."

"Good for her." Finn said.

"Even if you really believe that, it's not good." Quinn replied. "Even Puck was pissed."

Finn furrowed his eyebrow. "Why?"

"He asked Rachel why she'd get engaged to someone after five months of dating and she said it felt right." Quinn explained as she rolled her eyes. "When she gets back to New York, I'm gonna kill her."

Finn sighed and bit his lip.

"Mommy, I'm hungry."

Quinn turned around and looked at her daughter. "Do you want some macaroni?"

Beth nodded.

"I'll make it." Quinn nodded back. "Why don't you hang out with me in the kitchen? Uncle Finn has to make a phone call."

"I do?" Finn asked.

"To R-A-C-H-E-L." Quinn spelled out, knowing that Beth probably wouldn't recognize Rachel's name.

Beth nodded and ran into the kitchen.

Quinn looked at Finn. "Call her."

When Finn was alone in the living room, he slowly dialed Rachel's phone number.

"Don't pick up, don't pick up, don't pick up." Finn chanted softly.

"Hello?"

"H-Hi, Rach. It's me. Um, Finn." Finn stuttered.

"I know who you are, Finn." Rachel chuckled. "What's up?"

Hearing Rachel's voice made Finn feel more nervous. It made his heart skip a beat.

"N-Nothing. I was just calling to wish you congratulations. Quinn told me about the engagement." Finn said, trying his best to act happy.

"Thank you. We're really excited." Rachel replied. "And it would mean a lot to me if you came to the wedding. We'd love to have you in the wedding party."

"Right." Finn muttered. "Well, I'll do my best, but I can't promise anything. You know how busy I am with work."

"Don't you get any time off?" Rachel questioned Finn.

"I do." Finn answered, sighing at the irony. "I gotta go. Congratulations again."

"Thank you. And thank you for calling." Rachel said. "It means a lot. To both of us."

"Yeah." Finn responded. "Bye, Rach."

"Bye, Finn."

Finn hung up the phone and took a deep breath. Rachel was really marrying somebody else.
