Abortion (Finchel)

A/N: I know this is a touchy subject and I don't wanna get all political, so I tried not to. The title speaks for itself so if it's something you are not comfortable with, please skip this chapter

"Finn, I need to tell you something." Rachel blurted as she looked over at him.

"You can tell me anything. I'm always here for you." Finn responded, despite being gone the past four months, and only coming back a few hours ago.

Rachel took a deep breath. "A few weeks after I got to New York, I got an abortion."

Finn froze.

"I was alone and scared and I decided I had to do it." Rachel continued. "I didn't know what to do."

"You could've told me." Finn said softly.

Rachel looked at him. "You weren't answering any of my calls or texts. I tried to contact you before and after. I really wanted you to know."

"When did you find out you were pregnant?" Finn asked. "You must've known before New York, right?"

"A week or two before graduation." Rachel responded. "And I was gonna tell you on our honeymoon, but next thing I knew, I was in New York and you were gone."

"I can't believe I did that. I was so stupid." Finn said.

Rachel shook her head. "You were strong."

Finn didn't say anything.

"I know this probably isn't something you wanted to hear on your first day back, but I knew I would have to tell you the next time I saw you." Rachel told him.

"I should've been there for you." Finn said. "And I'm really sorry I wasn't."

"It'll be okay." Rachel promised.

"It'll be okay." Finn repeated as he hugged her.
