Puck frowned as Beth came running out of school with tears streaming down her face. He picked her up and put her on his hip.
"Hey, Monkeyface. What's wrong?" Puck asked as he held Beth.
"I wanna go home." Beth muttered as she buried her face against Puck's shoulder.
"Alright." Puck said softly as he rubbed Beth's back. "Let's get you home."
Puck started walking home with Beth in his arms.
When they got back to the Puckerman/Fabray apartment, Puck put Beth down and looked at her.
"Where's Mommy?" Beth wondered.
"She took Grace out." Puck answered. "Now you wanna tell me what made you so upset?"
"Joey at school called me stupid." Beth replied.
Puck looked at the eight-year-old. "Well, Joey is wrong. You're really smart, B. Just like Mommy."
Nuh uh." Beth shook her head as she sat down on the couch and folded her arms. "Because I thought Santa was real."
Puck froze. Over the years, he had gotten more into Christmas and Santa for Beth and Quinn's sakes, but Quinn never told him how kids find out the truth about Santa.
Are their parents supposed to tell them? Or other kids at school? Or do they just figure it out? And what age is all of that supposed to happen?
"You're not stupid for believing in Santa, Beth." Puck stated as he joined Beth on the couch. "And I bet Joey said that because he doesn't know the truth either."
Beth looked at Puck.
"Does Joey have a little brother or sister?" Puck questioned Beth.
Beth shook her head.
"Well, the truth is that there is a Santa. And Joey was right, Mommy and Daddy are Santa." Puck began. "But now that you're old enough to know the truth, you get to be a Santa for Grace with me and Mommy."
"I get to be Santa?" Beth asked, eyes widening with the thought of such an honor.
"Yes, but you have to keep it a secret from your sister so she can keep that Christmas magic." Puck told Beth. "Can you do that? Can you help me and Mommy be Santa?"
"Yeah." Beth nodded as she hugged Puck. "Thanks Daddy. Love you."
"I love you, Monkeyface."
