Chapter 21: The Truth

(P.B's POV)

I turn over in bed and when I don't feel Marcy under me I sit up looking around. I look back down to see a note and I read it. I get up and go upstairs, jumping in the shower I cut my arm on the shower. I look for a sharp place or spot but when I look I see nothing. I just huff and take my shower. After I clean the cut and wrap it I go downstairs to smell breakfast and see Marcy cooking it.

"Well good morning". I go over and kiss her on the cheek.

Her lip curls into a smirk. When she turns around too, I geuss to give me a proper kiss, she looks down at my arm.

"What's that? What happened?"

"Just a cut from your shower. No big deal". I kiss her and shrug.

"Okay". She turns and sits the food at the island. "Foods ready. And I have to go visit my dad for a bit."

"Ok... I probably need to head back to the kingdom anyway". I say sitting.

"Ok..." She turns to clean up, I hear her mumble "I love you...." As though she's saying good bye.

"I love you to". I say with a worried face. Afterwards I grab my stuff and go over to her. She is just getting done with dishes and she turns around looking at me. I kiss her and hug her. "I love you Marcy".

"I love you too princess Bubblegum." She says hugging me back and then her lips touches mine. Wait why did she say my royal name?

I kiss back not wanting to let go but I do. I go to the door waving. "I'll see you tonight".

"Okay... Love you Princess." There she goes again with the princess thing. it makes me feel kind of uneasy.

I nod and walk out. I get back to the kingdom gates and I head to the castle to find Peppermint and my subjects. I don't see Finn or Jake but it seems almost everyone is here. "Peppermint what's going on"? I ask him looking at everyone.

"I've called them here so I can make an announcement." He says smiling. I look with confusion and two guards take my arms like I've done a crime. Or as if they were holding me back. "Welcome candy people. I have an announcement of my leave. Yes I must go but not before saying that princess Bubblegum has an affair with Marcline the vampire queen". He yells and everyone stares at me. Some eyes wide but some in total horror.

"Peppermint"! I yell with hurt eyes. Tears flow from my eyes and I hear a few people saying to lock me away. I close my eyes as peppermint talks again.

"She doesn't deny it! But that's the whole reason I'm leaving. I was thinking about you when all she could think about was herself".

"Then don't leave! You take over!"

"Bubblegum is selfish!"

"Please don't leave us! Put her away!"

"Think of the candy people Peppermint!"

I listen to the people and when I'm being pulled away I just hear the sound of Peppermint's chuckling.
