~Trey P.O.V.~
We continued to remain silent, especially me. I was hearing him out and then when he brought up the Vonnie thing and how he killed Christian over NBG, I saw the change in his disposition. He was remorseful and regretful, it was clear in his face. He was right in terms of how he killed Honey... IRG alone is famous for spreading out torture over the course of weeks and yet Breezy killed her painlessly.
"I hear you." I finally said with a small nod. "It's still just tough to accept because I keep thinkin' she's gonna come back into Oakland any day and say she's okay but I remember seeing her body at the trap. It's not settling knowing you were who killed her."
"I didn't kill her for shits and giggles, she got herself killed. If I wanted to truly kill her, I would have done it the day she fucked me over with running off like she did when she knew she wasn't supposed to when we were closing in on Lawrence. Right then and there was when I wanted to kill her but I didn't out of respect for you. As my brother, I love you and don't want you holdin' this over me. Your problem is you don't put the blame on her for anything, never make her take responsibility."
"Again you're right, Chris. I'm not gonna hold it against you, in my seven years on my own I've learned to accept the harsh reality that she wasn't what I kept imagining her as. I love you too as my brother and I'm sorry for how I did you." Opening my arms, we hugged it out as brothers should. "I'ma still be upset about it but I'm not gonna hold it over you."
"Thank you, Trey." He took his seat on the couch thing that was in the room behind us and I took a seat with him. "Where the hell did you even go all this time?"
"Mainly the East Coast. Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, popped in at New York and ended up in Detroit for a while. Rolled with Ice and the way he runs it over there... nothing like here. Dad, Uncle Arlie and Uncle Varo got it so tightly controlled while Ice lets anything go. That's how I like it ran." I said with a small laugh that got him joining in.
"You just want that typical thug life. Glad to see you ain't change that about yourself. Money and power, nigga." He said. "So then how'd you end up back in Oakland?"
"Isabella came and found me in Detroit like last week. She managed to convince me to come out when she got a text about a family dinner and now I'm here. She's been trying to find Vanessa, would you have any idea of where she is?" Looking at him, he looked no different than when he was just twenty one and that surprised me. I was expecting the stress of NBG to take a slight toll on him, but nah. His ass still the same.
"I was just about to ask if you knew about Isabella. Yeah I got a text from Vanessa the other day, saying she wanted to talk with me. We met up and nigga... her life was rough. She was into some bad shit and doin' bad things to get by- I ain't gonna say her life story because that's not my story to tell but God damn. She's been staying at my place till we figure out what to do."
"That ain't right, she's always gotten the short end of the stick. Ever since Aunt Riley and Uncle Javier split up, then especially when they both died. I was scared for a while thinkin' she may have just killed herself. With seeing all that she's seen, you know?"
"I agree with you. It's heartbreaking because she has one of the sweetest souls and yet she's just had a rough life. She doesn't talk much, at least not when everyone's around. When it's just her and I at the house, she seems completely normal. Her and Isabella should talk, as her older sister Isabella should have been there more for her. I don't care what her excuse is, I would have taken Christano in a heartbeat if Mama wasn't around anymore. I'd never just throw him to the system." Amen to all that Breezy, I agree completely.
