~Breezy P.O.V.~
Last night neither Breezon or Vonnie came home and sleeping in that house alone- yeah I had Cocoa Butter but still- was such an empty feeling. It was uncomfortable and no matter how many times I called Vonnie, she never answered or returned my calls. Breezon I know was with Joel but he's hardly been home altogether... my entire family has just fallen apart in the matter of a couple weeks after spending years building it up and getting us in a stable spot and I can't believe just how fast that's been torn apart.
Coming down the stairs with my phone pressed to my ear, I needed to get Cocoa Butter outside and thankfully she was following right behind me till we got to the sliding door where I opened it and she went running right on out. I'm not tryna clean up any accidents so I'll just leave her out there for a good twenty or so minutes, it's an adjustment getting used to her since I haven't had M.C or Sugar Peach in years but Cocoa Butter did put a smile on my face so that was a plus.
"Morning Chris." Lolo said with a yawn into the phone upon her answering on the second ring. "Why are you up?"
"Morning Lolo, I was callin' to try to find out if Vonnie stopped by your place last night or if she talked to you." I called Jamie earlier but she said she hasn't heard from Vonnie in a couple days since she's out of town till next Monday, so that narrows it down at least but gets me no closer to finding out where she is.
"Nope, she didn't come by and I haven't talked to her since the last family dinner. Is everything okay?" She sounded exhausted and now I felt bad for wakin' her up... however when she was living with me she would wake me up at all hours so in a sense this can be like payback. There, I don't feel so bad anymore now that I put it in that aspect.
"Damn, things aren't the best but it's all good. How's everythin' with you?"
"Hopefully you talk to her soon and change things around for the better. Everything is okay here, I miss my sleep but it's been so nice having Shawny at the house all day with me. He's with her now so I can't wait to see them." Though she was sleepy, she still had that cheerfulness to her voice that put a smile on my face. "Did you want to talk about what was going on with you and Vonnie?"
"That's great to hear you're enjoying your new chapter of life, I really mean that. I know how long and hard you were trying for this chapter so it makes me happy knowin' you're happy, Lolo." I said and I could already tell she had a goofy ass smile on her face and I can't even see her. "With Vonnie and I... it's the same issues just growing deeper roots-" I was interrupted by the sound of the lock on the front door turning. "-and someone is here. I'll give you a call back, alright?"
"Oh! Alright! Bye Chris."
"Bye Lolo." Hanging up the phone, I slid it in the pocket of my sweats and watched as the door swung open, revealing Vonnie. She looked like she had been crying not too long ago, her nose slightly red and her eyes a bit puffy though now she kept her head down. "Good mornin', Vonnie." I said as I took my seat on the couch nearest me.
"Good morning." She said quietly. "Are you working today?"
"Nah. Not at Romeo's or NBG, are you?" She shook her head. "Good, gives us time to talk some things out. Come over here." She looked up at me and I motioned for her to take a seat next to me. Setting her things down off to the side so they weren't in the way of the door, she walked over and took her seat. "What are your thoughts right now in all this?"
"As of right now, I'm heartbroken at what position we've ended up at. I knew what I was up against when I decided to get as seriously involved with you as I did... I just didn't expect it to be taken out on our kids and I wasn't expecting to have gone through the nightmarish situations. Since what happened to Bri, I've had night terrors of what happened in the situation with Ishaan and that pregnancy. Our daughter was murdered for no reason other than a cheap jab at you and yet you still choose to be apart of NBG." She spoke softly, keeping a gentle gaze on me as I reached to grab her hand but she wouldn't intertwine her fingers with mine, just left them how they were.
