Chris POV

It had been a week since the tour ended. Jesus something is wrong with me. Mariah is so far stuck in my mind. I don't know what to do. Everytime I close my eyes, I see her smiling face.

Okay, I'll admit it, she's fine as hell. Uuuugh it hurts to admit that. And I like her. Oooh that hurt even worse. Okay, i like her and she's pretty and I'm catching feelings. Especially after that kiss. Her lips were so soft and tasted like peaches. Mmmmmm.

I gotta get my shit together. There's only one person to call at a time like this, Aug.

"Nigga what chu want? I'm trynna get Zhan'e to slob on my knob like corn on the cob." Aug answered the phone with an attitude.

"Boy watch yo mouth!" I heard Zhan'e yell. I cracked up.

"Bruh it's Mariah. I-" he cut me off.

"You finally syopped denying the fact that you like her in that way and now you don't know what to do?" Aug said.

"Yeah..." I stated.

"Well, first, don't mix business and pleasure. Don't be messing with her like that while she working for you. Get her another job first. Then try it." Aug said.

"Thats a good idea. Yeah. I'll call Raymond now." I hung up in Aug's face and dialed Raymond's number.

"Hello?" He answered. I could hear Corrine singing in the background. She got the pipes.

"Aye Raymond, can I have another assistant?" I asked.

"Oh lord here we go. Chris what are you up to?" Raymond asked.

"You know you got that one position for events planner. Mariah could fill that. She's got a degree in stuff like that. And anyway, I want a new assistant cause I can't date Mariah if she works for me." I said.

"Chris, now you know damn well I'm not having this. You have eeither fucked or ran off all your assistants. What the hell is the issue?" Raymond said.

"You don't understand! This time I'm for real. I think I caught feelings for Mariah. I hate to admit it, but I did."

"Oh shit. Yup you serious. Your stubborn ass would never admit something like that unless its true." Raymond said.

"Exactly. So can you help me out?" I asked.

"Okay. But your nect assistant is gonna be someone you can't run off." Raymond spoke before hanging up.

What the hell is he talking about? Who cares. All I know is I gotta figure out how Imma get Mariah.

Mariah POV

"Girl and then he called me and told me he wanted to go on a date." Mya bragged about the drum player guy.

"I know you happy. Its hard to find a good guy now a days." My phone rang and i walked over to my counter to answer it.

"Hello. May I speak to Mariah?" I heard Raymond say.

"Yes this is she."

"Ummm this may seemed crazy, but I wpuld like to offer you another position as an events planner. You won't have to work for Chris anymore because i know how much of a head ache that is, and we have a few other assistants lined up so don't worry, you won't be leaving him hanging." Raymond stated.

"Umm yeah. Why the sudden change?" I asked.

"I know that you have a degree in that field, and the position is open so I thought why not offer it to you."

"Well I'll take it." I smiled at the thought of not having to work for Chris anymore.

"Alright. We will have a meeting Thursday to discuss pay and other details." He stated.

"Alright thank you so much for this opportunity." I smiled.

"No problem. Have a good evening." He hung up.

"Spill it." Mya said as soon as I put my phone down.

"I got promoted." I said smiling.

"Yaaaas bitch! I told you that you wasn't gon be working for that high yella fella too much longer." Mya said.

"You're right. I'm so happy. I'm their new events planner. You know that's been my dream job for the longest.

"Yeah and after everything that happened, I didn't think you would keep going with your dream. But you did and I'm proud of you." She smiled before hugging me.

Her bringing up the past slightly soured my mood. Horrible things that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy had happened to us. But one must not dwell on the past.

"Lets go out amd celebrate. Shots shots shots!" I cheered while doing a little dance.

"Girl I keep telling you that you need to slow down on that drinki-"

"You don't tell me what to do I'm grown. Now come on." I grabbed my phone, purse, and keys and Mya followed me to the car. It was time to celebrate my promotion and get rid of these flashbacks.
